We hired Mendez Electric, a multi-generational family business, in 2024 at the recommendation of a neighbor who had used them to completely rewire their 100-year-old home in Berkeley's Elmwood neighborhood. Mendez Electric did a full inspection and report of our electric system, which still included a lot of knob and tube. We ultimately hired Mendez Electric to undertake a major electrical project (six figure project) for our older home which included: 1) a complete system/wiring upgrade and installation of a 300 amp service panel upgrade. This work included all relevant permitting and coordination with PGE.
