"Excellent work. They not only did an excellent job with cleaning but also painted the railing on my deck at a very reasonable price. Simply put, hire them"

"Powell Soft Pressure Washing did an awesome job. We had been in our home for 6 treats and in that time that green and dirty appearance on our siding took over…. And the front steps were in pretty bad shape as well. The workers were prompt and did a beautiful job…made my home look brand new. I highly recommend their services and stand behind their brand!… GREAT JOB and thank you again ?"

"The service was very excellent, they were very professional, when I initially called the owner called me back as soon as possible and he was very informative, He educated me on how power washing go so I would be understanding on how it works. He was able to send me a quote within the day, he was able to get me a schedule within a week or two after our call. When the technicians came out, they were able to finish the job in one day. My deck is beautiful. I was very happy, they were very informative, very willing to help me, the price is great and I would definitely use them again."

"William Frisby was recommended by another contractor on Angie’s list, who highly recommended him. Now that the work is completed, I can understand why William Frisby has earned the respect of his colleagues. He answers all questions by email. He arrives at the work site promptly. He communicates honestly about what needs to get done and what does not. He is attentive to customer concerns. He completes the job on time. But this is not the main reason for recommending William Frisby so highly. It is the quality of his work that sets him apart. Not only was I a happy camper, but since William has completed his work, I’ve had several contractors at the house to estimate some work I need done in the house. Several other contractors commented on the dining room ceiling. In addition, I was particularly concerned about creating plaster dust in my house. I clean houses for a living and I KNOW how difficult it is to remove this fine particle dust. Other men contractors think that because you cannot write your name in the dust that it is not a problem (let me put up a sheet of plastic over your doors). Not so. They are unfamiliar with the problem, because they do not clean on a regular basis. William’s sander that has a vacuum cleaner in it that REMOVES OVER 97 % OF THE DUST, when he sands. DRYING TIME FOR THE JOINT COMPOUND OR “MUD”: William uses the “powdered” joint compound. He is SKILLED at using this product (it dries in either 20, 40 or 90 minutes = depending on which product you buy. Therefore, it is important that the sheet rock installer work quickly and neatly). The other kind of joint compound is pre-mixed and takes 24 hours to dry. If you apply paint over not-sufficiently-cured joint compound, EVENTUALY the seams will pop (the job looks great when it is finished, but does not last). Another contractor, who gave me an estimate told me he was going to do the above described job with pre-mixed joint compound in an afternoon and did not see a problem with this. YES, I would hire William again. After I get the kitchen ceiling insulation completed, he is going to do my kitchen ceiling and repair damage to the upper part of the wall. WOMEN – if you are interested in a contractor who is NOT going to create a huge mess *for you to clean up* and who does a top quality job, William Frisby is your man."

"I really liked working with Creative.  the only flaw I ever saw was that the office and sales can be very slow to return calls, work out issues, and answer questions.  Have to keep on them. <br />"

"We've had Bob Seeley paint and paper in our house many times, inside and out. As usual, this job went well. Bob preps meticulously, first by covering with tarps every surface on which an errant drop of paint might possibly land, and then by patching, scraping, sanding, and dusting to make the surfaces as smooth as they can be before he begins to paint. <br /> He was methodical and thorough, even down to making sure the screws on the outlet covers and switch plates were aligned, straight up and down, when he replaced them. Before leaving for the day on this two-day job, he straightened out and covered his tools and materials to minimize the disruption in the house. <br /> Bob has always taken great care with our things, and we've been completely comfortable having him work in our house when we've been away. He's also a really nice person with a good sense of humor. He enjoys his work, and it shows in the quality of the finished product. <br />"

"The appointment was set up for Monday for the roof and Tuesday for the gutters. On Monday the workers arrived at 830am. There were only 5 of them and we could not believe how fast they worked. They removed the old roof and replaced several sheets of plywood that we expected due to rot. They cleaned up as they went and the roof was completely put on by 130 in the afternoon. The workers made one final clean up and even swept off our driveway (some dust and dirt from the deconstruction of the old roof)! On Tuesday only 3 guys came to remove and install the new gutters and down spouts. They removed the old ones and measured and cut the new gutters to size right here. It only took them 45 minutes to complete the work. They also took all of their trash and cleaned up very well behind them. We plan on using Jerry's again for an interior remodel since we can't get the addition we wanted and for any other future home construction products! <br />"

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Abingdon, MD

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
