"We are very pleased we chose the The Floor Store to help us select new flooring and have it installed. We worked with Bill Cunningham to choose carpet and vinyl flooring materials that we are very satisfied with. The installation crews for both the hard floor and the carpet were incredibly professional and highly skilled. They arrived as scheduled, worked consistently throughout the day(s) and completed the work when expected. Between the new flooring and new baseboards, our house feels refreshed and contemporary. This was a great investment in our home and we're so glad we made it."

"Last year we had new windows and outside fencing installed by the, and quot;otherand quot; home improvement store. It was one big headache!! They aplogized by offering us a 10% discount on our next purchase. Really? So for this year's home project we decided to go with Home Depot. We had laminate flooring and carpeting installed. Both installs were done quickly and most importantly they were done correctly the first time! The contractors were courteous and they cleaned up after themselves. During the installs they kept us informed about the install and pointing out things that we should know. We will use Hoem Depot again for home improvemnts. <br />"

"Damon came out to the house and measured all of the area to be replaced. We went by Enchantment and looked at samples and took lots of them home so we could see them in place. We finally chose a carpet and 2 different tiles. The installers came just before Christmas and did the job quickly and efficiently. They were very nice and professional. We are extremely pleased with the results. Thanks to Damon for showing us carpets that he thought would work. The one we chose was nothing like what I had in mind but I am in love with this carpet! The bathroom tiles are beautiful and the wood look hickory tile that we put in our den was exactly what we both had in mind. It is perfect. Damon listened to us and we took his suggestions and the entire project turned out great."

"The job was done promptly and, on the date, scheduled. We had some issues, but they were resolved quickly and professionally. Our salesman Nathan was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help us. We are also having carpet installed next week."

"Ray's did a great job with both my carpet and vinyl plank flooring.  I solicited many bids for this work and Ray's price for vinyl plank flooring was (by far) the best and the initial carpet bid was pretty good too, but I had better offers.  However, Laura did a great job price matching my other bid and I was pleased to use them for the entire job.  The end product looked fabulous. <br>I was initially put off by the long lead time quoted to me.  However, when I told Laura I was in a hurry she put her foot on the gas and made the job happen in less than a week.  Overall, I am pleased to have chosen Ray's. <br> <br> <br>"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Albuquerque, NM

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
