"I used Absolute Carpet Care for new carpet and I truly cannot recommend them highly enough. Jason brought carpet samples to my home, helped me pick carpet I could have installed less than a week later, and took great care of my project when his team found water under my old carpet- a shocking discovery he made easier to handle! He explained the problem to me and put the affected part of the carpeting project on hold until I could have the water damage cleaned up. I felt like I was treated like family and my new carpets are soft and beautiful!"

"The selection of carpets (at the store location in Fairfax) was excellent. No hard sell just plenty of knowledgeable answers to questions posed. The measuring and installation were done in a very reasonable amount of time. Workmanship excellent. Don't go anywhere else."

"Their rep was extremely helpful in selecting a color and figuring out the best width of carpet to minimize seams that might trip one of our little kids. The only problem was that their rep had said the installers would glue the wooden strips to our concrete basement floor. The installers showed up and started hammering them into our concrete basement floor, which is not ideal. Apparently gluing the wooden strips requires doing the glue requires coming one day, and then coming another day to actually put down the carpet. Hopefully the nails in the concrete floor won't cause moisture problems... Otherwise they were great; the result looks great."

"While setting up to clean the tile and grout in an upstairs bathroom, the hose the technician was using burst. He immediately ran to the truck to shut if off but not before it spewed black sludge on the wall and hallway carpet. The technician work diligently to clean everything up, then offered to clean the carpet in both the hallway and stairs leading up to it. He then called the owner and he offered to paint the hallway since he wasn't able to get it completely clean. That's what he did. The painter arrived the next day and painted the entire hallway the color of my choosing and the company's expense. He then came back and put on a second coat later in the week. He was so good, in fact, we used him to paint our kitchen.  <br /> This was an ugly accident but an accident nonetheless. The company, though, handled it just about as well as it could have done. Plus they did a great job cleaning the carpet and tiles. The tiles/grout in the kitchen really looked about as clean as they've ever been. Very pleased with how things played out. The company certainly made the best of a bad situation and I was very pleased with how they did it. I'd certainly use them again. <br />"

"Best carpet company I have ever used! They did a great job. The guys were very respectful and polite, taking care not to damage anything or scrape any walls with the hoses. Once complete with stretching the carpet on the stairs, it looked like it had been newly installed again. They did an amazing job of cleaning my carpets, getting rid of some stains that I didn't think would come out, and in over two months the stains have not reappeared. Their prices were very reasonable. Will definitely use them again in the future!"

"Did a great job! Had them add some carpet stretching on for $150 extra on top of an Angie's List deal for $375 for carpet cleaning. Very professional, moved most furniture and protected the wood with covers. Carpets are in much better shape now. Highly recommend!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Aldie, VA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
