"Randy's provided excellent carpet cleaning, for our home, which we recently moved in to.  They were on time, professional, and safe.  They demonstrated meticulous attention to detail, working on stain spots, high traffic areas, and areas that were wavy, which needed stretching.   Gary did an excellent job, and we will use them in the future.  We highly recommend Randy's Carpet Care."

"We looked at Vinyl sheet flooring, but it was too expensive. We settled on carpet again. Sales was fine, went smooth. They had a great selection. Access to their large selection of remnants made for a good experience selecting the carpet. <br /> Installation scheduling went well. Our calendars are a bit tight, so finding times went OK. We had to schedule a couple of weeks out. <br /> Installation went well, they were on time and professional. <br /> The carpet looks nice, I really can't fully rate the install at an A. Nothing is bad enough that I would have the installers back out, but I'm not as blown away as I hoped to be. The edges of the carpet at the baseboards are not as smooth as I would like, it looks a bit ragged. Also I can see the seams faintly in some sections of the carpet. Not glaringly, but just enough that I know they are there. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Two friends recommended Fibercare for our carpet cleaning needs and we were more than satisfied. They were very good about communicating with us on their arrival time and very professional. They were extremely knowledgeable about carpets in general and the best way to address specific needs. They did not overstate our needs and, in fact, told us some areas only required the high traffic paths be cleaned. I will not hesitate to call them in the future."

"Went to the store a couple of times to make sure about my choices.  Jack was very helpful. Was the one to come to house and measure.  Installers were professional and courteous and timely.  Whole job, including getting carpet ordered, was max 3 weeks."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Allendale, MI

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
