"Blain Construction did a superb job on my kitchen remodel. They really went above and beyond my expectations! For example, I was not expecting for them to redo my plumbing. I didn't realize it was in such bad shape. Now everything looks and works fabulously!"

"Very well....pun intended. FYI I rated price as a "B" but honestly, I think it could have been much worse. They spent some time troubleshooting and avoided pulling the well pump up...in my opinion a sign of true professionals. They could have made a **** of a lot more money off of me if they wanted. Additionally, Billy, the owner showed up part way through the job even though their office is a good 30 minutes away. Ended up the leak was a failed pvc joint out in the yard. They found it without digging using a very large "cake tester". A small, hand-dug hole, some new couplings and a bit of glue and we're back up and running. They also pumped up the well-tank bladder, swapped out some tired parts and installed an additional check valve while they were here. I heartily recommend them for well servicing."

"I think we found them through word of mouth. The plumber came out here and quoted. We did shop around and found that he had the best value for us. We got the information from Angie's List. The job was great. They were very knowledgeable and awesome. They did a great job and there were no problems. We spent about $4000 to $5000 for their services. I would definitely tell others to give the plumber a call. There are a lot of companies out there, but I feel that we definitely got a good deal. Overall, they were good. I would definitely use their services in the future too."

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"Stephen Street (aka Tybee Handyman) is the best and the go to person for handyman services on Tybee Island. I have hired him 4 times and continue to hire him. I am never disappointed. He does the work in a timely and professional manner at a very reasonable cost. He is a real asset to Tybee Island and us long distance and local owners are really lucky to have him available to us. The Tybee Handyman is great at problem solving issues in my house. He is a jack of all trades and can help in multiple areas of home services including setting up cable and internet services. I basically create a "to do list", hand it to him and in a few hours, everything is done on it!!! He really looks out for his customers who he treats like family. I recommend Tybee Handyman 100%"

"They did everything they promised, were there at 7am each morning and gone by 3:30 each afternoon. They were focused and hardworking the entire time. They finished within the time line that they said and cleaned up after themselves every day. They were extremely sensitive to my needs as I camped out in my home while they were working. I do plan on hiring them again next year when I remodel my kitchen."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Allenhurst, GA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
