"Had a great experience with Downeast Chimney Sweep! The rep was very knowledge and professional. Our home inspector had recommended cleaning and examination of chimney flues. We don’t have a fireplace but were told that it’s important to clean the exhaust flue since we have gas heat. Downeast chimney explained that we have a direct vent gas furnace and since it doesn’t use the chimney, we don’t need to do anything. Did not try to sell us things we don’t need. "Brad is very professional, knowledgeable and an all around great guy.  His inspection uncovered some additional work that needed to be done as it appeared I had had a chimney fire.  He also found a couple of minor things that could be replaced.  He gave me a quote on the entire job.  He suggested a plan of action to do the big things first and worry about the smaller things down the road.  He wasn't out just trying to make a buck.  I would definitely use Kiwi Chimney in the future as I was very happy with the chimney sweep. <br />"

They were efficient and professional. They didn't complain about the difficulty of maneuvering vehicles in Beacon Hill and they were on time. "Derek was on time, took off his boots and placed drop-cloths by fireplace. He meticulously took off the glass, dismantled the whole system and made the 20 year plus gas fireplace look new! He replaced the pilot light which was no surprise to us. He also recommended a remote controlled thermostat which we needed. This is our primary heat source in the winter and the room would become too hot so it was a constant battle of opening a door and the room got too cold or having to add and then remove layers of clothes multiple times. I cannot rave enough about this company."

"They did a GREAT job! They first ran into permit problems in Brookline, but Rich (?) was able to fix that and didn't charge me extra. Then on the day of the work, they showed up and worked through to the next day and removed the whole chimney from the inside without making a dent in the house. I was MOST impressed with this as I have 2 small children so dust is a big deal to me. Since they are so prompt and efficiently, i was able to coordinate with my roofer to come in on the same day to seal up the roof. At the end of the day, you couldn't even tell that someone had removed a chimney just minutes before. Highly recommended! <br />"

"The chimney inspection indicated a possible water leak. The ASH-GO representative then told me I needed to have my chimney re-flashed and suggested a product called FlashSeal. Desiring to be an educated consumer, and having prior experience with aluminum step flashing on a roof, I asked the rep for an explanation of why the flashing on my brand new roof was inadequate? At this point, he became agitated, told me he'd write me a quote, and left. I never received a quote for the flashing work. I have since called twice, and despite the postcard I received in the mail earlier this week saying "all calls returned within 24 hours," I have yet to receive a call back. I have called a few other chimney companies, and unfortunately, none perform the type of repair I need."
