"The plan on this job was to protect the pool from collecting debris with a plastic tarp. In the demolition process, the crew damaged several coping bricks. The framing, rebar, concrete pour and stamping went otherwise OK. They were late removing the tarp due to needing to work on the brick, and it later rained, covering the tarp with water. Joe offered to cover the coping brick damage, sending a guy at the end of other jobs to chip the broken bricks out over the course of the coming week. He damaged a finish tile. Also, the number of “damaged” bricks seemed to increase as we went along. We were not able to remove the tarp when anticipated due to the additional coping demo, and it stayed on over the rains leading up to the 4th of July weekend. Joe's original plan was to clear any water from the surface of the tarp with a submersible pump, removing the debris along with the tarp. This did not work due to the amount of water that had collected. He cut the tarp to remove it, with the debris falling in the pool. After a few days of brick chipping, I started asking for a new schedule. Joe told me to call the office. I asked this question repeatedly, sharing my frustration with the way the job was going. She eventually told me to talk to Joe when he arrived with the crew on July 9. When he appeared on the 9th, he went back to check on his guy and quickly went back to his truck. I flagged him down to give him a spare finish tile and ask my scheduling question. He drove away while I was talking, indicating that he had to get to another job. I waited for a while, then called the office to complain about being disrespected and still not having a schedule. I was angry on this call, but did not yell or use profanity. Joe returned to my home later that morning. I opened the door when I saw him. He came at me with balled up fists calling me names and threatening to beat me. He felt I had been inappropriate with the “seventy year old woman” who answers the phone at the office. He threatened to beat me again, called me some more names, and walked of the job. I have a recording of most of this interaction from my Ring doorbell camera. This was an $8000.00 job. I have paid everything save $650.00 that was due at the end. I will likely incur expenses that exceed this amount in having the work completed, if I can get a contractor to finish the job. Additionally, my pool service company indicates that they will charge $1500 to clean the construction debris and another $1500 to restart the pool. There will be additional expense in replacing the water to be drained in the cleaning process. So if you don't mind a contractor that bullies his way out of a job with threats of physical violence when things go south, Houston Solid Concrete is for you. Otherwise, steer clear. They only get 1 start because 0 is not an option."

"When we purchased our home in 2017, there was already a crack across the top 2 segments of the driveway where that area had sunk quite a bit. Besides the cosmetic issue, we felt this subsidence was also a tripping hazard. After researching online and using Angi, I found GROUNDWORKS (formerly FSS: Foundation Support Specialists) who came out to give an estimate. Ricardo showed up on time with advanced warning of his ETA. He was thorough and left me with a color-coded bid. Some of the driveway and sidewalk leading to the front door were going to be lifted, and some parts stabilized using the foam injection method. Even though I received bids from 2 other companies, I chose GROUNDWORKS for their 5-year warranty and mid-level pricing. All companies were 4.5 stars or higher on both Google and Angi. On the job day, they arrived on time. The job was completed in about 2 hours. I am very happy with the results."

PolyTexas offers a number of lifting processes to help you with your residential projects. We offer the traditional process of lifting concrete with pressed piers. This style of lifting perimeters of homes has been a success for almost 100 years. When lifting the exterior or perimeter of a home this is absolutely necessary. However, lifting the interior of your home does not require the massive undertaking required to install interior piers. Today you have a clean and affordable alternative. Almost 40 years ago the foundation industry learned that polyurethane had some major lifting capabilities and properties. After nearly 4 decades, polyurethane has earned its way into the industry and proven to be true structural solution. The soil under your home is supposed to withstand the weight of your structure for a lifetime. Unfortunately, soil composition changes as the decades go by. The main culprit for this soil breakdown is the introduction of water; either due to poor drainage near the exterior, excessive water flow near the exterior of your structure or your plumbing has failed beneath the slab. In any case, the soil under or near the home can no longer withstand the load of the home and it eventually sinks. Simply put, our polyurethane will fill these voids under the home and re-compact these soils to the point of refusal. The benefit of this material is that it is as strong as the concrete it is designed to support but weighs virtually nothing when compared to soil or concrete. Because of this unique benefit we can void fill and stabilize these effected areas and lift your home, restoring the soil composition and the elevation of your structure. Why don't other foundation companies offer this technology? We aren't sure, but we can tell you that it's not a new process. It takes thousands of projects to fully understand and utilize this technology and we have the best machinery, the best tools and the best results. PolyTexas can offer you permanent results. We offer the most comprehensive analysis and evaluations in this industry. Give us a call to schedule a visit. The family at PolyTexas would be honored to help your family! Absolutely. You can combine drainage installation with many other kinds of projects, such as building a new home, constructing a major addition, or installing an irrigation system. Since excavation is already underway, combining tasks can save you time and money by minimizing labor and material expenses and ensuring seamless integration of multiple systems.
Make sure your contractor is licensed and insured by checking their credentials. Ask for a detailed written estimate outlining every aspect of your drainage system, including how they plan to address specific problem areas in your yard. You can also ask if they have a warranty for their work. Additionally, review customer feedback to confirm the quality of their work.
It depends on your specific water management needs. A French drain is a passive system that redirects water away from your home without mechanical assistance. A sump pump actively removes water when it reaches a certain level. Often, using both systems together provides the best defense against water intrusion, but a pro can give you specific advice for your home and yard.
