"Mike actually installed carpet for me in July 2014. I'm on Angie's list now to get his number to do my upstairs! He worked with his son on the installation. Very professional and save me a ton of $ by cutting the carpet in such a way that I didn't have to buy a ton of waste (Empire carpet would not let me do that an insisted that I buy a ton of waste). I can't see any seams in the carpet and after 1 1/2years is still great."

"I received a response promptly when I called them, and they were able to complete the repairs the next day, between other jobs they had scheduled. They arrived when they said they would, introduced themselves, and took care of the job in approximately 20 minutes. The carpet looks brand new and you can't tell where it was repaired. They were very courteous and great to work with. Richard even trimmed a seam from the previous installation even though they had not installed the carpet originally. We will definitely use Shirkey's Carpet when we are ready to have the carpet stretched at another property we own. I would highly recommend them!"

"I am a regular client of Dry Step because of their prompt, professional service. I love that the carpet is cleaned with non-toxic product and that the quality exceeds my expectations. Even pet stains are gone. The technician is knowledgeable and prompt. I would highly recommend Dry Step."

"I am thrilled with my new carpet from AFS! I had previously used AFS to replace the hardwood floors throughout my house and from the positive professional experience I had before, I used them again to replace the carpet. I have carpet in the majority of my house and had been putting it off due to the inconvenience. The installers were so efficient and helpful, they had it done in no time. From laying down the paper to protect my floors, removing and installing the new carpet to the clean up, there is no other flooring company I will use. It was easy picking out the carpet and after all the research, I couldn't find a better deal for the level of quality I was looking for!"

"Bill Solomon and his sons Billy and Luke are trustworthy, efficient, neat, hard working and conscientious.  This is the third time they have worked with us.  We used Solomon's first when carpeting our basement.  Fourteen years ago, they installed carpet in our house and added hardwood floors in the kitchen, dining area and downstairs bath.  This time it was new carpet for the family room and the entire upstairs. <br /> We went to Levis 4 Floors and Rite Rug, but didn't receive the personal interaction that Bill Solomon gave us, plus Bill's prices are lower for the exact same carpet. In fact, neither of those stores seemed to care whether we used them or not.   <br /> We always recommend Solomon's and will continue to do so. <br />"

"Monte was patient with us as we delayed placing the order for several months from the original quote. Not sure if we got the carpeting we needed but it was close. Monte's business style is very informal: no itemized quote, hand-written, runs the business from his cell phone usually on the job. We were very pleased with his installers. They went well out of their way to provide a timely and quality installation: job was scheduled to last 2 days but the installers extended their workday to finish in 1 day. Monte's quote didn't include a small bathroom which we had modified since his quote. Monte and the installers adjusted the job and schedule on the fly and re-carpeted that room. For equivalent work, Monte is very reasonable. In our other home in another region, the quotes for less work and less carpeting is considerably higher, carpet quality and price notwithstanding. <br />"

"David and Henry did a fantastic job restoring the beauty of our carpets. Our staircase carpeting is 20 years old, but you'd never know it after Henry finished working on it. Even the edges of the treads, which usually show the most wear, look practically like new. The two men also restored the brilliant colors of our 2 Oriental rugs. Throughout the process they were very polite and professional. We've hired Martin Carpet Cleaning before, and we'll hire them again. Price is right!"

"Our over all experience with America's Floor Source was amazing. It was so convenient to have Ed come to our home with Samples of everything from Carpet to Laminate Flooring. He was very experienced and knowledgeable to help us make the right decision for our flooring project as well as safe and social distancing while measuring our home for a quotation. After reviewing all options of carpet or Laminate flooring we decided to have our old carpeting replaced with new carpeting thru out the Dining Room, Living Room, Stairs and Hallway. The carpet and padding we picked out were all in stock and ready for installation. When the installers arrived they were very friendly and professional and got the job done in one day moving all the furniture, taking out the existing caret, and replacing the new and looked great. My husband and I loved the new carpeting so much we called Ed and decided to do our 3 bedrooms as well."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Amanda, OH

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
