"I stopped into their showroom and explained my issue (pilot light assembly) needed replaced. They were very helpful and scheduled an appointment. Shane arrived on time and confirmed the diagnosis that I had received from another local company. Chimney Care is upfront with their pricing (unlike their competition) and completed the work as expected. I highly recommend calling this company first and do not waste your time with others."

"Roger was a true professional. We brought him in based on a recommendation and could not be happier. We brought him in to clean an existing chimney as we had a strong smoke odor permeating our house. Roger came in and found safety issues and recommended the right person to fix the issues. Roger was knowledgeable, professional, and punctual. I would certainly hire him again."

"<p>The work went very well. Bruce Ryan is very responsive. Bid I received from him was complete including insurance, payment policies, space and access requirements, photos of the existing condition of the chimney upon which work would be done. Mr. Ryan provided additional information and explained all of my questions I had after reviewing his proposal. I was kept informed as to what they did, when they would be out, and what responsibilities I had for preparing their access to do the work. Mr. Ryan followed up on my inquiry and explained the pros and cons of different repair approaches. The proposal was more expensive than my other estimates, but I feel that the workmanship is excellent and the new crown is far superior to the one the builder originally had installed. The new repair will require less maintenance, is more durable than the original crown, and is very well done. I would definitely use Bruce D. Ryan's Masonry Construction again. I would recommend him to anyone who needs to have a chimney repair done, wants it done right, wishes to deal with a responsive and knowledgeable masonry tradesman, and is interested in a repair is well done and likely (with reasonable maintenance) to be more durable than the original masonry work. When evaluating bids for masonry work, your selection criteria will need to include factors beyond cost alone - such as responsiveness, quality of the work, durability of the repair and likelihood that the repair will not need to be re-done if recommended care is followed. I am VERY pleased with the work Bruce Ryan and his crew did repairing my chimney.</p> <p>(Note: I do have photos of the completed work but did not see a mechanism for including them with my review.)</p> <br />"

"Karl Mattes Co. had performed high quality craftsmanship at my home before, removing two deteriorating original chimneys and replacing them. The roofing crew was the most job attentive one I've seen. They arrived on time each day and stayed on their tasks the full day., Their roofing work, plywood replacement to eliminate damaged basic wood structure, underlayment installation, flashing and placement of my selected shingles was clearly professional and worth the estimated cost for a long lasting goof."

"J. Gill Roofing is my go-to roofing and chimney repair and replacement contractor. As someone who owns a few rental properties, having someone who is timely and always available is so important. With housing, you have to make sure your roof is good to go before anything else. I found J. Gill on Angie's List years ago and have not sought another roofer since. Great and honest work for a fair price. The owner, Justin, puts the customer first and keeps price in mind. A+++"

"I highly recommend Advantage Roofing. The owner, Tim Mallory arrived on time for the initial inspection and quoted a fair price for a new roof, gutters, leaf guards and a minor chimney repair. I had received another quote for the same work from a large local company. Their quote included substantial repairs to my chimney which were not needed. I had it confirmed by independent inspection from a local chimney specialty company that the repair as quoted by Tim was perfectly adequate and proper for my situation. I knew then that I was dealing with an honest and knowledgeable individual. Tim put me on the schedule and began work on time as planned, with a few minor adjustments to start date along the way to account for changes in the weather. They kept me informed as my start date approached. The materials were delivered in full, the day before the job. On the morning the job began, Advantage arrived early with a substantial crew. My house was a hard two day job. Every individual on the crew was polite and took extra measures to fully protect my landscaping and garden. The work was completed on time and in a very professional manner. The house looks great. The cleanup crew went overboard to be sure that that they found every last bit of scrap and every possible nail. While I continue to keep an eye out for the occasional roofing nail, the Advantage Roofing crew did everything they could to find every possible nail and they would not leave the job site until they were certain that I was fully satisfied. After the job, I received my final invoice, which was exactly as quoted. As an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Butler County for many years, I am very familiar with the need to carefully select contractors. Advantage Roofing was a delight to deal with from start to finish. I am pleased to pass along the great experiences I had in dealing with this company and my personal recommendation to anyone shopping for a new roof or gutters."

"Bone Dry did an excellent job handling our chimney and roof repairs. They were up front with all aspects of what would be done, and delivered on exactly what they promised. Of 3 estimates obtained for the work, Bone Dry was the only one that both identified the trouble spots and provided solutions to both correct as well as take steps to prevent the issues from reoccurring. I would highly recommend them for both roofing and masonry work."

"Molloy Roofing replaced the whole roof of my house last month. I had several bits from a few roofers; and Molloy Roofing's estimated cost was the most expensive one. I initially was hesitant to use Molloy because of the high price. However, after researching the roofing costs and the involved steps, I understood that some of the important differences that set Molloy apart from other roofers were that they have had a very long, reputable history and that, instead of gun-nailed, they hand-nailed shingles, which greatly increased the labor cost. I learned of the important difference between the two kinds of nailing. I also chose to use their hourly-paid employees for higher level of accountability. I was willing to spend a bit more to have a good quality roof, which could last for a quarter of a century. The price difference would not be as significant if I looked at it from this perspective. I was very happy for my decision and the professional installation! I was particularly impressed by two of the roofers, James and Keith, for their dedication to the job. They were very efficient and thorough, and they made sure every step of the installation was carefully done and every shingle was nailed right. I was also thankful to Ted McCane's supervision and inspection, before and after the job was done. After the installation was complete, James and Keith diligently examined and surveyed the work site and picked up any debris before they left. But it was Molloy's policy to have Ted, one of Molloy's top bosses, personally come up on my roof a few days later to inspect and make sure everything the roofers had done was to his satisfaction. Ted also went around my house a few times to make sure that there was no nails or debris left behind. On the top of the satisfying installation experience, all my encounters with the rest of Molloy's staff were very pleasant. I particularly appreciated Rosemary's help with my inquiries, Eric's, who used to be a roofer himself, knowledgeable and sincere answers to a lot of my questions regarding the roofing proposal. Although I never met Dave Molloy, president of Molloy Roofing, I want to take this opportunity to say, "Thank You" for his demanding of high-quality performance from his staff and employees as well as his dedicated care to his customers. I highly recommend Molloy Roofing!"

"Before converting a wood-burning fireplace to a gas log, we called Vonderhaar to inspect and sweep the chimney. We wanted to ensure the chimney was clean and nothing was living in it before converting to gas log. I called Vonderhaar and scheduled an appointment the same week we called. We had called other companies and they were scheduling further out, at higher estimates. Chris was the employee who came for the job. He inspected the chimney (from the roof and looking up into it from the fireplace), found nothing living in it, and confirmed it was clean. He told us he could sweep the chimney though doing so was unnecessary since it was clean. He gave us some asked-for advice about the new gas log insert and the chimney cap. The cost was lower than the original estimate because our chimney didn't require cleaning."
