Restoring or making new countertops with epoxy mimicking natural stone. You can have the look of Marble at a fraction of the cost and less maintenance. Also do tile installation for kitchen and bath along with grout and tile repair.

Stripped it down and got the other entrance open.
Got the entertainment center cut in half. Now figuring colors out.
This is the primer bond coat that goes down first.
They wanted to save the wood flooring.
First coat is the bond coat.

"I contacted Jim Burke of Crestone about making a small repair to the 2nd floor deck of my house. After checking more thoroughly it was found there were a number of boards with significant decay. Many of the boards were so bad, there was nothing to hold a screw or nail. The small repair I had in mind would have left the deck dangerous, still not meeting building codes, and would have staved off replacement by only a year or two. Steve, the project manager, made suggestions that resulted in a more through repair and when a glitch was discovered part way though, a modification was made that resulted in an even stronger better looking finished product. Over 30+ years I worked over-seeing a variety of contractors who did every imaginable aspect of construction and maintenance work on the large office building I managed. The scope of the projects varied from adding or removing a door or two to adding 5,000, 10,000, and 20,000 square foot, two story additions to the building. The Crestone workers were as good or better than any I worked with. The workers showed up promptly every day, stayed on the job, and completed it without delay. Once they worked all day in a driving rain. They stayed on the job continually and took only a short lunch break. The workers thoroughly cleaned up at the end of every day and hauled away debris. In recent years I have wondered how projects get completed as the new acceptable standard appears to be that workers talk and text on their cell phones throughout the workday and take frequent smoke breaks. I saw Crestone’s employees making or taking a phone call only once or twice during the 6 day period and never saw an employee smoking a cigarette. The Crestone labor rate is based on 100% productivity the entire work day without an inefficiency factor for cigarette breaks, talking and texting on cell phones, or breaking and wasting time talking among themselves. The deck looks better and is stronger than when it was originally built in 1991. It looks 100% better than my simple repair would have produced. The shaky, wobbly stairs and rail are now very solid. I highly recommend Creston General for any home or construction job and will call them first for any work I may need to have accomplished."

"aI had a list of my needs.  1) We had an eyesore of a back porch.  The paint was peeling off as the sellers and done a poor job of prepping the porch and then painted the entire thing.  We needed it scraped, sanded, holes and cracks filled, and then primer and paint.  It's a fairly large porch, probably 10x20 ft. and covered.  2) I also had a basement window directly behind a flower bed. Dampness had rotted a section of the window sill.  3) We had a fuse box that was popping out of the wall and needed fixing.  4) A ceiling light fixture had fallen and broken.  5) Bathroom basin was missing the plunger/stopper.

Small jobs welcome

"I had Mr. Johnson install a backsplash in my kitchen. He was very knowledgeable and even gave me some pointers on what would work better with my kitchen layout. I was very happy with the results. My interactions with Mr. Johnson was very pleasant and professional. I am looking forward to using his talent in the future."

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in Anchorage, AK

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
