He did initially tried to charge me a little more than the average for the area but after I explained that I had done research for the labor costs and already have materials he got the cost significantly also mention that you found him on Angie's List. I am very pleased with how the floor looks they did a very quick job some very weird layouts because my house is strange though I love its eccentricity. Though it takes a long time to book him because he is usually busy he works very fast, but not sloppily, and the work was completed in approximately 4 days with a small crew of three one of whom was his son. we are almost done with most of our work but I'm a call him back for some minor repairs thing that needs to be completed the only complaint I have is that at least one of the workers is a smoker and I found a few cigarette butts in my yard or in the bushes next to where they were sawing which was not very pleasant. That is a minor complaint though because as contractors go they show up on time and they get the work done and they get the work done well; which, I don't know if you use very many contractors, is unusual and a good thing. Overall I would use them again in a heartbeat and I would suggest them to other people.

"Our roof was in very bad shape. It was leaking in 2 or 3 places and we had to reach out to someone to repair the roof. When I first spoke to Frank from Johnson's Carpentry, I felt so much relief for the whole situation. They started around 7 that morning, and completely finished the roof by 5 that afternoon. "They did a very good job with the roof and the addition that came off the house and covered the deck. The only reason I gave them a B rating for quality instead of an A has to do with the finishing touches on the addition. All around the house the soffit fascia is covered in white sheet metal. When they finished the addition, which follows the roof line of the back of the house. They left it with bare, untreated wood. They don't use treated lumber because it reacts with the metal roofing and some corrosion may result. That's fine, but they should have at least covered it so that it tied in with the rest of the roof line. As we did our final inspection, I asked about the wood being treated and he explained why they don't use it. I said " so I guess I'll have to cover it?" He said that I would. I was leaving town on business in a couple days and had a lot going on, so I guess I just didn't think to put my foot down and insist they do it. Here in Mobile, Alabama we are the wettest city in the nation. We get more annual rainfall than Seattle, and it's humid. Wood rot happens.I went and bought some Thompson's Water Seal, and some sheet metal and took care of it myself. I have some pictures, but I don't see how to post them on this review page. The workers were very polite and cleaned up very well each day.

"Opted to use another company for the roofing work.  The person who came to give me an estimate was nice, polite, prompt, and professional.  However, the company provided an estimate to replace my roof without ever even looking at the roof in person, other than from the ground level.  No one ever got on my roof or took measurements to calculate the estimate.  While it may be possible to obtain a rough estimate from satellite photos, there is no way to determine the extent of any damage to a roof without actually climbing up onto the roof and doing a visual inspection."

"On the exterior work the brick is a match with the existing parts of the house that were previously already brick which was a concern.  Windows are a big improvement over what we had.  For the price - very good.
For the partial kitchen remodel we needed a wall moved and a new electrical line added.  Excellent work and quick.
