"I have used 5 Star Plumbing more than ten times for both my rental properties and my personal home. They have always been reliable, responding quickly and getting the job done efficiently. Their pricing is fair, and they do not try to upsell unnecessary services. I appreciate their honesty and straightforward approach. If you need a plumbing company that does quality work at a reasonable price, I would recommend them."

"Originally, we brought Lalone and his team in to repair our well after it was sideswiped by an automobile in the driveway.  We still had water but wanted to make sure that everything was "A-OK".  His technician discovered that the power supply line for the well had not been properly grounded in the pump housing when the original installation was completed thereby resulting in a potentially disastrous electrical hazard.  This problem was corrected the same day and the well's operation passed muster.   <br /> More recently and much to our surprise,  while getting breakfast ready, we discovered that we had no water even though everything was fine the night before.  Puzzling.  Mike responded to our call by sending out 2 technicians who diagnosed and corrected the problem in less than 5 minutes (ironically, the power supply to the well pump in the house had been taken off line in error - LaLone's boys remedied the deficient condition and cheerfully observed that I could blame my sister-in-law who had been in the basement the night prior. <br />"

"Owner Jack came out.  They were not on time and I had to call several times to figure out if they were still coming out.  We had a schedule appt for them to pump the second tank at 9:30am and then an inspection with Jack at 10am.  After no one showed up at 10 am I started calling.  I guess they were having issues but I also was having issues.  Jack came out and was very helpful and kind.  Apologized for the tardiness.  I had to call the office to have them come within the hour to pump the second tank.  But Jack was able to help me figure out why I was having issues with my septic.  I would use their services again. <br />"

"He came out to do the assessment for free and he came out either the same day or soon after that. Very easy to work with him on the phone and via text. For the emergency sewer pipe problem, he fixed it same day in just a few minutes. On the shallow well install, he even hooked up a field spigot that I didn't know about and now it works again. Very professional and would absolutely recommend. Prices were very fair, especially with coming out for free. Accepted credit cards through Square. $500 for the install (excluding price of the pump and reservoir tank which I had already bought from Tractor Supply) and $225 for the emergency sewer problem."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Ann Arbor, MI

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
