"Marcus Crooks did a great job determining the problems and replacing my Samsung refrigerator ice maker. The ice maker was frozen solid. Marcus had the tools necessary to resolve that problem. He determined that the ice maker had additional problems and thoroughly researched the issues including taking the time to trace the problems to a lawsuit involving the manufactur"

"Used this company first time last summer when our 2 year old Samsung
dryer stopped working.  Technician Mo came out during the scheduled time
window, with a call ahead, announcing that he is 10 min.  away.  He
diagnosed the problem quickly (motor kaputt:  human error as I forgot to
place the filter back in its place after removing the lint.)   As it is
a good product and so "young" we decided to invest in a new motor.  It
needed to be ordered and Mo came back installing it when it arrived.
No problem since.
This time around, our 3 year old Electrolux range /
oven needed help as the self cleaning feature did not work.  Mo came
back out, again with a phone call ahead within the scheduled time
window.  He again diagnosed the problem quickly. (The sensor went bad.)
We are following Mo's recommendation to not use the self cleaning
feature as there are grand possibilities to ruin the motherboard when
using this self cleaning feature (the risk is especially high with high
end , sophisticated ranges.)  I bought some baking soda, made a paste
and started cleaning the dirty spot.  I could remove some of it, but
then I needed to get a spray bottle of fume free oven cleaner and
finished the job.  We did not bother getting the sensor replaced as we
decided to skip the self cleaning feature altogether.  Mo has been on
all occasions very professional, courteous and efficient.
Will call them for any appliance repair need in the future.  Highly recommend.
TIP:  Take a look at their website, I have seen a coupn that applies against the repair of an appliance!

"I bought the deal to replace a shower head. The crew came on time. Very friendly. They replaced the shower head very quickly. I also asked them to take a look at a leaking toilet, thinking I may need to replace the feed valve. But after an inspection they told me I just need to replace the flapper, which I later did. This saved me some money. I have used Drain Surgeon a couple of times in the past. The crew is always very professional and friendly. Will use them again."

"Maurice provided excellent professional advice when measuring for my new dishwasher and recommending a replacement. The installation was seamless, and Maurice followed up with a courtesy call to make sure that the dishwasher was working properly. My one recommendation would be to establish an agreed-upon time frame for installation. Unforeseen circumstances delayed Maurice's availability to install the dishwasher, and I was able to work around the delay; not everyone has that flexibility."

"In September of last year, I met Rene and his staff after reading reviews about his work on Angie's list.

When I purchased this four story 1930s home last year, I underestimated the amount of work it needed. Today, I've refinished the floors, refurbished walls and ceilings, stripped lead from decades' old paint, repaired faulty electrical work, and restored this lovely home into what I envisioned it looking like years ago. I don't think I could have done this, certainly not to my high standards and investment goals, without Rene and his equally talented staff. They are the real thing, and I'm not confident I could say that about many contractors these days.

With each project I have decided to take on, Rene has patiently listened to me process my options, and given me his recommendations. In some cases, I've strayed from his wise counsel, but Rene has always supported my decisions and provided the necessary staff to either handle the entire job, or part of it, in order to help keep costs under control. The interior of the house is nearly complete, and I've spent about $20,000 to refurbish the two main floors, which has included refinishing all the floors, sanding the windows and crown molding/trim, stripping old paint and debris from doors, polishing or refinishing solid brass doorknobs/hardware, painting the entire interior, including installing plantation shutters throughout the house.

I can't recommend Rene or Renaissance highly enough. He brings the best of modern construction to what seems like a bygone era of good old customer service - completing jobs on time, within budget, while exceeding my expectations. After working with him for nearly 10 months on every conceivable need, I wouldn't trust my home to anyone else.

FAQs for appliance (smaller size) installation and replacement projects in Aquasco, MD

Garbage disposals last around 10 years when properly maintained. If your unit is getting close to that age or repair costs are increasing, it might be time to consider a replacement. Regular maintenance and careful use can help maximize your garbage disposal's performance and help it reach its maximum lifespan.

There are several signs to watch for that indicate your garbage disposal needs to be replaced. Replacement may be necessary if it doesn't work even though it's properly connected, the blades are worn and causing delays in operation, a persistent foul odor that won't go away, or leaks coming from the bottom due to a compromised seal. If you're experiencing any of these issues, it might be time to consider getting a new garbage disposal to keep your kitchen running smoothly.

A plumber or handyperson can install your garbage disposal if the electrical connections are already in place. If you need additional electrical work, you'll also need to hire a qualified electrician to handle the rest of the job. Hiring local professionals ensures the installation is safe and up to code.

It’s important to avoid putting certain items down the drain to keep your garbage disposal running smoothly and avoid clogs. Expandable foods like pasta, rice, oatmeal, and bread can swell and cause blockages. Coffee grounds, grease, fats, and oils can accumulate and create clogs. Hard items such as meat bones, nuts, and fruit pits can damage the disposal blades. Eggshells, potato peels, and fibrous vegetables such as celery, pumpkin, corn husks, artichokes, onion skins, and asparagus can wrap around the blades or obstruct the pipes.

Not every sink is suitable for the installation of a garbage disposal. The compatibility of the sink with the disposal depends on the material and structural integrity. While many standard sinks support these units, fireclay sinks are prone to cracking under the added stress and should not be used. Confirm that your sink can securely accommodate the disposal before installation.

Choosing the correct size garbage disposal depends on your household size and how much waste you produce. A 1/3–1/2 horsepower unit should be sufficient for households with one to two people. If your household consists of three to six people, a 1/2–3/4 horsepower unit is recommended. FA3/4–1 horsepower model will be necessary. For larger households of five to eight people
