"E&R had cleaned my cedar shake roof a few years ago so I was familiar with their work and thus called them again.  Timing was a little difficult b/c it was right before the holiday season and going into the colder season, but we were lucky with temperatures above normal for that time of year, and they were able to complete the work by early February.  It took about 3 visits.  We were very happy with the results; the roof is greatly improved in appearance and we are satisfied that it will hold up for another 2-3 years at which time we will have to consider replacing it.   We wanted to install gutter guards but our Sales Rep, Ed Maurath, advised us to wait until we replace the roof so we could coordinate the colors.  For a temporary fix, he suggested that we use the snap-in, inexpensive mesh guards that we picked up at Lowe's and the E&R crew installed for us free of charge.  A sensible & practical solution for now.  Since they were going to be on the roof, I asked about having chimney caps installed.  Ed suggested that my husband get those, which he did, and again his crew installed free of charge.  Perfect!  They also did a great job cleaning all the mold and mildew from the asphalt portion of the roof, which had never been cleaned and was really ugly.  All in all, a great improvement in the appearance of our house. Since I knew the quality of their work, I did not shop around for estimates, but I've learned that you pretty much get what you pay for. I think E&R is professional, skilled and knowledgeable, and trustworthy. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

"KBR, under the leadership of our excellent designer Armagan, did a fantastic job renovating our guest bathroom into a full bath. They converted a closet that had been next to the bathroom into a beautiful walk-in rain-head shower with a seated bench. KBR had hundreds of beautiful tile options and they did an excellent and very professional job installing and grouting them in a perfect subway style. Armagan helped us to design everything to fit in a small space that feels much more spacious than we expected and looks like a spa. KBR also is currently working on renovating our kitchen, and we have been very happy with the results thus far. Armagan was very helpful in finding the exact materials we were envisioning and the quality of the materials (semi-custom cabinets and countertops) is excellent--exactly what we had imagined. We have also been pleased with the renovation crew who have been very personable and easy to work with in making decisions on final touches, etc. We met with and received quotes from multiple contractors and KBR was reasonably priced, even including high quality materials in the original quote. I would highly recommend KBR and Armagan to anyone looking to renovate (and in fact have already connected my brother and sister-in-law with them for potential work)."

"Cornelio and his team did a great job- I would highly recommend them. He had a very competetive estimate and was able to start when he said he would. He was very responsive to questions as they came up. His team worked very hard six days a week and finished the project exactly on time. It came out beautifully. They built a shower, broke the concrete, installed plumbing, poured a concrete pad for the washer and dryer, and fully finished the space. They also did electrical work and more. It was great working with just him to get the whole project handled. They did a great job.

Our new kitchen included new flooring, which extended into joining laundry room (we chose porcelain tile),  level 1 granite counter top, tile backsplash, paint, new cabinets, and electrical work (we replaced a big light with 4 recessed lights, and moved the location of our appliances.)

New half bathroom included new vanity, granite counter top, flooring (which extended into the entry way), paint, and they installed a new toilet, mirror and light fixture which we purchased separately.

Ocean's estimate was the best we received. (One contractor gave an estimate for just refacing cabinets which was almost as much as Ocean's for brand new ones.) They also had great reviews on Angie's List so we decided to go with them. We worked with Sean. He was very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Our installers were a team of 3 that worked very efficiently and cleaned up after each work day.

There were a few hiccups along the way, but I think that can be expected when doing such a major job. Both Sean, and the installers made sure that we were happy in the end.

We would definitely use them again. The price was great, as was the quality of work and professionalism.

We are very happy with our kitchen and bathroom.

"Very professional and courteous! Great work on the walls; the only minor issue I had here was cleanup. He did an excellent job on cleaning the floors, but there were small bits and pieces of joint compound on the walls, mirror, molding, and baseboards areas surrounding the patched areas that had to be scraped off after he left. Exhaust fan and porch light replacement done quickly and perfectly."

"George's Painting is the BEST.  We used George's Painting a year ago to paint the interior of our house (see my review from 3/26/2011) and they were the first and only company I called when I needed our basement dry walled and painted after it flooded from a broken pipe.  Anthony was at our house within an hour of my calling him. After seeing the work to be done which included extensive drywall work, installation of new baseboard and shoe molding, painting all walls, ceiling, trim in my 1200 sq foot basement as well as two windows and 9 doors, front and back, Anthony gave me a great price which was less than the insurance estimate. He then said he could have his men out in the morning.  He also told me he would have his licensed plumber come in, repair/replace the exterior hose spigot and interior pipe that broke, all included in his quote.  Anthony helped with a color selection from the Benjamin Moore paint line and even suggested an accent wall, which we did.
His team of 3 men were prompt the next morning, and started working on drywall and baseboards. They were the same friendly men who were part of the team that painted my house last year.  The next day, they returned with a great plumber who replaced the spigot and repaired the pipe. George's Painting's employees are in a word, professional.  These men are expert and skilled painters and carpenters who pay attention to details and take pride in their work.
Anthony bends over backwards to meet your needs and then goes the extra mile to assure you are happy with their work. The job took two days and when they were finished our basement was clean and beautiful.  I would HIGHLY recommend George's Painting to everyone.  Just call Anthony and he will take care of you.  Thanks Anthony!"

FAQs for baseboard installation projects in Aquasco, MD

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
