"Awesome service and great punctuality. Wasn't a big window of time where I had to sit and wait. Company said they would be there and they were there on time. Had a faucet under my sink leaking and also had a garbage disposal installed while there. I will definitely be calling muddy waters and only muddy waters in the future."

Small jobs welcome

"I can’t say enough good things about this company! I called about my water heater and they showed up the same day, within just a few hours. Rile took a look at it, and for some reason it just started working again. The best part? They refused to charge me anything. You don’t find that kind of honesty every day. Amazing customer service, and they’ll definitely be my go-to for anything plumbing related from now on. Thank you so much, Rile. You’re the best!"

"Showed up when he said he would. Even tried to work me in sooner, but I had my phone turned off. Went right to work; had everything needed to do the job. Excellent job done despite uneven floor. Good explanation of what should be done to correct bad cement work if we ever remodeled the bathroom. Very reasonable cost. Jerry will be my goto guy for plumbing from now on. <br />"

"I first met Bill and his son when we built our first house in NWOKC over 10 years ago. He was the plumber hired by our builder. They did a great job of explaining and educating us on what they were doing and why. Throughout the years, on the rare occasion I needed something I've called Bill. When our next house in Edmond had two exterior faucets burst within 10 days of one another - we called them even though we hadn't spoken to them in years. (We never had one issue with the plumbing in our first house.) Once again - they explained what they were doing, why and what the previous plumber had put in the cheapest part possible (Thanks for nothing Taber Homes). We recently moved into a historical home and had all the plumbing in the main bathroom updated as well as a toilet replaced in the powder room. We were on a tight deadline and Bill and his son made sure it was done right and chased down any issues that might have caused problems in the future. He believes in doing it right - the first time. We ended up making a change in the bathroom so that cost us a bit more but I know 100% the job was done right. We'll see him again soon to finish installing the bathroom fixtures."

"The young man did a very good, neat job and got done remarkably quickly.   <br> <br>My only problem with Stan's is that they didn't itemize their bill.  Now I can understand if, as a rule, they don't itemize, but when I called to ask for an itemized bill, mostly for the purpose of finding out how much the actual hot water heater cost, the guy who answered the phone couldn't have been ruder.  (I can't help but think that if my husband had called he would have taken a different tone.)  He announced that in 27 years he'd never itemized.  Okay.  I perform a service and don't itemize either.  But if someone asks me to, I'll be glad to break it down for them.  Mr. Stan's Plumbing wasn't about to.  Sooo he's lost a customer, one who's about to redo two bathrooms.   "

"I have used Big John's Plumbing for several years. Without exception, he <strong>always</strong> shows up on time, works fast (but thoroughly), cleans up after himself, and charges a fair price. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />He does not do work that isn't necessary. On his last visit John suggested I consider delaying two jobs: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1. One job was minor and John said he could do the work but showed me how I could avoid any leaking and get more service before repairing. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />2. He also suggested I could save money by delaying one major job. I wanted him to re-route some water lines to make changing the water well filter easier. When I told him I planned to replace the water purification unit in a few months, he suggested I let him change the filter at this time (no charge) and delay re-routing the lines until he installs the new unit a few months down the road, combining everything into one job since he would have to move the filter anyway when he installs the new purification unit. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The date of his last visit is an estimate. <br />"

"It went well! He was punctual, friendly, and professional. He explained the process, what he did, and I felt like I receieved good value for my money. I had another question as well, and he offered information and opinion on the problem and there was not any pressure from him to complete the work, or have it done "now". I appreciate tradesmen that deal in facts and are low pressure. If you are like me, Arnold is your plumber."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Edmond, OK

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
