"Nelson Carpet Cleaning stretched and cleaned the carpet in my upstairs bedrooms. It had obtained plenty of stains and wrinkles after 25 years of use. The results were truly amazing. The stains and wrinkles were gone and the carpet brightened up again. Can’t say enough about Doug’s ability to transform our carpet into looking almost brand new again. He is clearing knowledgeable and skilled in this work. Highly recommend."

"<p>Went extremely well due to the Proactive efforts by the staff!  I never had to call them!  They got things in days when it initially looked to be weeks.  Did all these jobs sequentially, so it's not like I got special treatment because I was spending a ton of money.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>You will never feel ripped off!  Going with anyone else is just taking a real gamble!</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The guys that installed the carpets used the latest and greatest stretching tools to ensure the carpets were put in place without any sags or bumps.  Excellent job!   </p> <br />"

"<p>Solon Freeman came to my house quickly to give me an estimate for replacing carpet in 3 bedrooms.  He brought samples and was very knowledgeable and professional.  I was able to get my carpet installed the following 2 Saturdays.  The installers arrived about 15 minutes earlier than scheduled time, had me check carpet to make sure it was what I ordered, and began moving my furniture.  They were very careful and really knew how to move it without any damage.  They pulled up old carpet and swept floor before installing pad.  I asked them to also sweep after pad was installed and they did.  After carpet was installed they vacuumed it. The furniture was placed back where I wanted it.  They helped me place covers on my mattress/box springs.  The same men came the next Saturday.  So, they installed the other two bedrooms doing everything as I had asked previously.  No mess was left anywhere after both installations.  Great customer service!</p> <br />"

"I was completely satisfied and will go first to Lowe's for all future needs. The most important part of this job was the installation. Taking advantage of installation deals makes life a lot easier and estimating what you will spend a whole lot easier. Installation costs can be ridiculous when they start adding charges for moving furniture around, removing and disposing of old carpet, stairway installation, etc. I was able to spend more on carpet because of the installation special available. <br />"

"Amazing. We backed of the deal when other house sale fell through. Refund and they understood. Then back on again. and they made schedule work so that floors could be finished and dry before move in. And the quality amazing, the yellow pine hallway now matches rest of house. Rippling from water damage gone. Used them several years ago in 1912 house on Spottswood. The old furnace grate had been removed and plywood added. Removed carpet, they matched old floors and you could not tell there was a patch. Installed new prefab floor in prior home, again. super job. Would never consider using any one else. BTW, most recent job, movers scratched floors, mentioned and they responded can fix, happens frequently. Great local Memphis small business and completely honest. <br />"

"<strong>The installer came within 2 days. He was very professional and made a detailed sketch of our layout: three bedrooms, seven closets, two bathrooms and a hallway. We went back to Lowe's to try and match an existing carpet sample, but not butted up directly. We found a match and received a cost estimate immediately for carpet and installation. We then did a second estimate from a competing location. This took another 5 days. They were too high, so we went back to Lowes in Collierville. As it turned out, the carpet we initially chose was no longer being made and Lowes went the extra mile to match what we had initially picked out. It was a softer carpet, but the color was a very close match. They gave us an additional 10% as a veteran off the cost of the carpet. We also bought stainmaster for carpet and padding so there was no charge for installation. Within 5 days our carpet had arrived and within two more days we had out carpet installed. We also paid to have our furniture moved. As painful as it to be invaded and move and quot;stuffand quot; from 7 closets; I can honestly say this was an excellent experience. Lowes in Collierville, carpet division is excellent, and has very competent expert employees. This was a very positive experience. </strong> <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Arlington, TN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
