"It went well.  Len is very knowledgeable regarding carpet cleaning, and he was helpful with information on cleaning up spills. There were several significant stains that he removed that have not returned after several months. The dirt returned quickly to a small but high traffic area. Len returned to re-clean that area at no charge. <br />"

"I was very satisfied with the carpet and installation.  My only concern was the berber carpet which I chose.  I had previously had berber in the family room and had no problems, but my dog has caught this carpet in a couple of places. <br />"

"They were good and very professional. They did not measure. I gave them the measurements but they came out and did my carpeting. They did a good job except that just now, 18 months later, I was going to have a fire and I saw that they covered up the hole where I put my key in for my gas fireplace. I called them and they were out the next day to take care of it right away."

"Matt had helped me before, so I already knew he was wonderful. He is knowledgeable, skillful, innovative, professional, accommodating, conscientious, and personable. The quality of his work is always excellent, and I trust him to give me his honest, educated opinion about work that needs to be done. He's an expert in many areas, and all of his work is fast and solid. However, I was especially grateful for: the beautiful job he did re-caulking my bathroom vanity, which had been done (and re-done!) so sloppily by the installers; discovering and repairing the hidden danger causing my ceiling fan to wobble; taking the time to determine the source of my dishwasher leak and help me locate the part number that needed to be replaced; and allowing me to add jobs that I hadn't thought to ask about before. I feel incredibly fortunate to have discovered Punchlist Plus!"

"Great contractor. Highly recommend. We had previously dealt with a well established Nashville firm to refinish our hardwood floors. They were more expensive than other estimates, but we went with them because of their sterling reputation. Imagine our dismay when our previously smooth hardwood floors showed ripples more appropriate to a seascape than floors. We naturally complained and after a thoroughly disagreeable discussion with multiple excuses, he agreed to fix the issue. It took many weeks and phone calls to schedule and while the end result was better, the floors are still damaged. When it came to refinishing the remainder of our hardwood floors, we started looking around for alternatives. We can't say the we found Kyle after exhaustive research or a thorough process, we just kind of lucked out. He came out, gave us a fair estimate, recognized the damage to the floors as primarily being from a crew trying to rush the job. We accepted our proposal, he talked us our of one part of the project (an honest man). His crew was there when he said they would be, they were personable, hard working and as inconspicuous as a crew can be while running sanders, etc. The worksite was left clean at the end of every day. The floors were done on time, on budget, look marvelous, completely match the finish on the previously refinished floors, but without the damage. I cannot say enough things about Kyle and his crew.and urge anyone looking for a hardwood flooring contractor to contact him. He also has the coolest business card."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Arrington, TN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
