"We are very pleased we chose the The Floor Store to help us select new flooring and have it installed. We worked with Bill Cunningham to choose carpet and vinyl flooring materials that we are very satisfied with. The installation crews for both the hard floor and the carpet were incredibly professional and highly skilled. They arrived as scheduled, worked consistently throughout the day(s) and completed the work when expected. Between the new flooring and new baseboards, our house feels refreshed and contemporary. This was a great investment in our home and we're so glad we made it."

"One of the best experiences we have had with someone working in our home. This guy is a true professional in every way. His work and work ethic is the absolute best. He is a young guy but do not let that fool you he really knows what he is doing. Whether he is working with hard wood, laminate or tile his cuts are spot on and he goes the extra mile to make sure things are perfect. He is not happy unless things are right. His prices are very reasonable especially for the quality of his work. He is also very punctual and he does exactly what he says he is going to do. If you have had any experience with contractors like I have as an owner of multiple rental properties over the past 20 years you really appreciate this in a contractor. You will not go wrong with Matt if you have a wood, laminate, or tile floor that you want installed. I am speaking from experience. Hire this guy while you still can. I got a feeling that with time and word of mouth advertising he will soon be so busy you will have to wait many months to get on his work schedule. We did not have him put down any carpet but he dos that as well so he is a one stop shop for any flooring need."

"John and Chris are the best subs that my partner and I have ever worked with. They do not cut corners and won't leave something that does not have a quality look. They recently installed laminate flooring in our whole house, minus the bathrooms. Their sales woman was patient with us as we went back by their shop 3 times to sample different floor types. While they were working on it we let John know we were interested in redesigning our master bathroom and he already had ideas for us as well. They finished up the floor and it looks great. Have gotten a lot of compliments on it already. John and Chris were able to get started on the bathroom right away once the floors were done and got to a good stopping point. It took us a while to get our plumbing and drywall finished but once those were done they came back out and finished the job up quickly. It looks amazing and they did top quality work. My girlfriend loves the bathroom and spends a lot of time in it! We will be recommending East Mountain Flooring to our friends and family and will use them again when we decide to redo our guest bathroom."

"I called the day on Thursday, got a few details and asked if they could detail my car on Friday.  We set up an appointment at 2pm at my house.  (Cool, points for availability).  I had some errands to do on Friday but thought I could do them and make the 2pm.  At 1:50pm I got a call from them saying that I was late for my 1:30pm appointment.  I explained that the appointment was for 2pm and that I would be there in 5 minutes.  I arrived at 1:55pm and they started detailing my car. <br /> I went in the house to wait.  I checked on them a couple of times and it seemed that they had teams of people that specialized in different things because I saw different faces each time.  After 2 hours, they rang my door bell to let me know that they were done.  I examined the car and my first impression was that it looked like it had just been driven off the car lot.  Looked great.  <br /> When I looked a little closer I found a few issues.  First, the front window was badly streaked.  I mentioned it and they immediately started working on it.  I then noticed that the head lamps had not been cleaned.  They said that they would work on it but to really do it right I would need to purchase an additional package where they buffed the head lamps clean.  I thought that I was paying a premium for the detailing service and expected this to be a part of the package but apparently not.  (Negative points). <br /> I paid them the money, signed some paperwork and prepared to drive my car into the garage.  I then noticed that I was missing my foot mats.  Luckily, they were still in the driveway and I asked them about them.  The guy said that they had put them aside so that they could dry and had forgot to put them back.  He said that they were still wet and suggested that I leave them out so that I didn't develop mold in my car.  He then got in the van and left.  I examined the foot mats and immediately realized that they weren't wet.  In fact, they were dusty and had never been cleaned.  Disappointing! <br /> So, overall I was happy with how the car turned out.  The car looks great.  I have never had my car detailed before so I am not sure about my level of expectation.  I did ask around and a few friends mentioned $200 for detailing.  I had one friend that had a groupon for an $80 detailing.  For the price I paid, I expected very minor issues.  I didn't like that the guy lied to me about the foot mats and the head lamp cleaning should have been part of the service. Otherwise, I am happy with the service.  The next time I detail my car, I will try a different detailer just to see if this is par for the course or that I should have demanded more. <br />"

"I am a REALTOR. Duke City Home Inspectors have completed numerous inspection for my clients and now our own family home. They are always very thorough and the best part is that we came away with a nice important list of how to keep the home in great shape for the future. Levi and Josh take tons of time to help the buyer or seller (he does pre-home inspections  for sellers,as well, and then comes back with the new buyer to re-inspect at NO CHARGE) understand what is in the report. If the buyer is attending the inspection they point out how to avoid problems and maintain a nice home. They will teach you how to take care of your swamp cooler, lube you windows, how not to get electrocuted when you open a fuse box, etc. Especially great for a new home buyer.  They are careful to look for polybutylene piping and sono-tubing plus much more. You will LOVE Duke City Home Inspectors! <br />"

"We had this company install flooring before and felt they were fantastic (see previous report).  This time it was frustrating and we felt they no longer appreciated our business.  First the salesperson said flooring had gone up in price.  $12.99 vs 7.99.  When I said I wanted to price elsewhere suddenly the price came down to $8.99.  Really?  They said it would be a few days for delivery and we were still waiting over a week.  They measured wrong on the tile and then we had to wait another week for the tile.  They charged us for undercutting the doors in the bedroom and office but didn't actually undercut any doors.  I brought this to their attention and I received another bill still charging for the doors.  We can't even close the closet door since they were here so know they didn't undercut that door.  No explaination but another bill.  I paid it but feel like they are looking to add on or get anything extra that they can from us.  Not a good feeling.  I may use them again (Roswell doesn't have many options) but will be very specific and get everything initialled by the workmen themselves.  By the way, the installers were great.  Very professional and nice."

"ARR was very professional, both in price and behavior. They were able to clean the carpet within 24 hours of my inquiry, showed up on time, were polite and friendly, and did a terrific job. The carpet was dry less than 12 hours later and it looks and feels wonderful. <br /> The only complaint is that they left an upstairs window open in a vacant house. It was on the 3rd floor, so probably not a huge risk, but I had asked about how quickly the carpet would dry if all doors/windows were closed, because the house was vacant. So they knew this was a concern. Still, I am very satisfied and recommend. <br />"

"I told him not to move any furniture with picture frames. Only sofas and beds in 2 bedrooms and 2 living rooms. I have 3 boys so my carpets were full of stains and dirt. I was going to replace the carpet. I called k and k cleaning crew before he told me that I should wait because his machine works great and cleans better than any hand wand out there. We scheduled a appointment for 9am on August 1 he called the day before to confirm the appointment and remind me which is very grateful being a single mom with 3 kids I tend to forget. He showed up 10 before and looked around and told me it would be the same price as he estimated which was very affordable compared to new carpet. He treated all the stains and spots. He even moved my sofas with moving disc and had wool covers to put them on the wood floors he did a amazing job at taking care of my furniture and floors. He was able to remove all the stains and restored the carpet to make it look brand new. I am so pleased I went this route and was able to talk with someone before I spent my savings to replace the carpet. Thank you k and k cleaning crew I will tell all my friends an everyone to consider calling you to do there carpets. They wre very professional better T <br />Than other companies I have tried in the past that leave stains and crumbs in the corners and next to the wall. Thank you again"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Artesia, NM

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
