"<p>Statewide Plumbing & Heating did a great job.  It was a crew of 2 people, and they worked hard through the task of fixing a leaky bathroom faucet and then installing a microwave over my range in the kitchen.  For the leaky faucet, the hot side shut-off valve had to be replaced in addition to rebuilding the faucet with new hot & cold cartridge stems, gaskets, & springs.  For the microwave, the crew took down my existing over-the-range hood, then created an outlet with the electrical wiring to plug the microwave into, then installed the brackets for the microwave, then put the microwave in place.  The entire job took about 4 hours.</p> <p>I have used Statewide Plumbing & Heating in the past to install a hot water heater and to install a new gas range as well.  I would use them again.</p> <br />"

"Tom called promptly and we discussed the job. He showed up with his helper to see project and realized it was more complex due to hidden water pipes. To avoid cutting into the wall, he figured an option involving building some piping to extend valve and attaching tubing. He explained to me that the job would take under one hour in my home since he would do all the prep work in his shop to get the best fit and to avoid soldering in my apartment. <br /> We scheduled an appointment for the next week, they came on time (actually, early!) and did finish in about an hour, leaving everything clean. The job done was excellent anf I am very happy and relieved that it is done. I have had this same work done in other homes I have owned in the past, and I already realized that this tight, closed location was going to be a challenge, due to poor planning on the part of the original builder. I appreciated Tom's honestly, professionalism, and even humor about the work - his helper was excellent as well. Everything was explained clearly and options were offered. As far as I am concerned, Tom's Plumbing is my plumber, I won't even look further in the future. <br />"

"We bought a house with a number of plumbing issues, the most serious of which was a shower that had been improperly installed such that there was effectively no trap beneath it, allowing sewage gases to come up through the drain. Fixing it required cutting a hole in the ceiling below the bathroom and re-doing a lot of the pipes. It was a two-day job and it seemed like quite a struggle. Ultimately the problem was solved. I can't really say whether the price was reasonable. The hourly rates weren't outrageous -- the question is whether anyone else could have done the job more efficiently. We also had them install a garbage disposal and faucet in the kitchen sink. Again, both of those jobs seemed to give them a bit of trouble, but that could be because of the original questionable workmanship in the house construction. There was room for improvement in how the services. For example, instead of saying "it should be all right for you to use the bathroom sink overnight as long as you don't use the toilet," they should have said "we strongly advise you not to use anything in that bathroom overnight." (We had a little flood as a result.) Also, they promised us a detailed bill after the job was complete, which we still haven't received 10 days later. And the water heater inspection they gave us seemed a bit cursory and rushed. I plan to get a second opinion on that. <br /> <br /> One of the guys on the job was clearly learning on the job, under the supervision of the more experienced plumber. I have no problem with that, as long as I wasn't getting billed for his education. <br /> <br /> On the plus side, both guys were friendly, respectful of our house and belongings, and willing to explain to us exactly what was going on in language we could understand. I'm sure they'd be very good at more routine jobs."
