"We did a lot of research prior to hiring Thrasher and we were not disappointed. Frankly I had been in denial (and fear) about the work I knew we needed done on our Midtown Omaha home because I was so concerned about the cost and impact on our brick Tudor. We had a crack in the brick near our garage and our basement had been leaking for a number of years with hard rains. From the start of the process, Thrasher was outstanding in terms of communication and education about what they do. Before we met with our Systems Design Specialist, Anthony, we had received e-mails and calls to confirm the date, along with a packet of educational materials about home foundations and waterproofing. When Anthony came to our home, he was very professional and performed a full inspection about our concerns. He prepared an estimate and we selected what was best for us following a thorough review of options he presented. The foundation work was completed first in ONE day. The basement waterproofing was completed the next week over a two-day time frame. The workers were very professional and arrived at the time they arranged with us. In regard to the basement waterproofing, we discovered one small issue. They came out immediately to correct this and all has been worked wonderfully since. We are very pleased with their work and commitment to customer service. Highly recommend Thrasher to anyone considering foundation or waterproofing work."

"The crew I had was very good,: pleasant, considerate, informative, took great care, and they worked like busy beavers. Job required 8 piers, and they went to great lengths to miss hitting at the main water line coming into the house which was supposed to be marked (flagged), but whomever was supposed to do the flagging never came and when called to come mark, simply said "go ahead, it'll be fine". It would not have been fine, and basement would have been flooded had these fellows not hand dug an extra two feet to unearth the H2O line and then made accommodations."

"In addition to the gutter guards which were installed and the downspouts buried, Thrasher also changed out a misfitting basement window well and cover, and installed a Sadona dehumidifying system. Jonah and his crew of Corrin and Luis were excellent at the work they did. I was called before they arrived, to ensure I was ready for them to start work, and Jonah went over the work with me prior to starting, to confirm what was to be done. Completely professional. After it was completed, we inspected it together and everything was perfect. I will worry less next time it rains! I will definitely recommend Thrasher if anyone I know needs work done."

"I called about replacing the hot water heater.  I purchased at home depot.  We arranged a time. His crew (2 men) came on time and installed it.   There were no difficulties. <br /> They removed the old heater, and cleaned up after themselves.  His charge was at the low end of his estimate.  I marked the cost as good as I don't know what others might charge for this service. <br />"

"Heartland Foundations are very professional and did an outstanding job on my deck and concrete pad.  I thought the price was very fair and they addressed any concerns I had about other jobs I was doing around my house.  They were very clean, they were on time, and communicated with me about all the details.  They went the extra mile to make a very sturdy deck for my price point.  The city inspector thought they did an excellent job on the deck.  I don't want to give too good of a review because I'm going to use them in the future and I don't want their schedule to be too busy.    <br /> Thanks for the great work! <br />"

"IT ACTUALLY WENT BETTER THAN I EXPECTED. YOU NEVER REALLY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING IN TO WHEN YOU ARE DEALING WITH A 56 YEAR OLD HOUSE AND ITS PLUMBING. THEY DID A NICE JOB AND WERE HERE WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE HERE. FOR A DIRTY JOB AS THIS WAS, I THOUGHT THEY WERE AS NEAT AND CONSIDERATE AS COULD BE EXPECTED.THEY EVEN WENT THE EXTRA MILE TO LAY BACK IN MY DECO. ROCK OVER WHERE THEY HAD DONE SOME DIGGING OUTSIDE, WHICH I APPRECIATED. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEYRE SERVICES TO ANYONE. THEY WERE VERY KNOWLEDGABLE ABOUT PLUMBING AND FULLY EXPLAINED  EVERYTHING BEFORE HAND. THEY ALSO WERE EASY TO WORK WITH."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Ashland, NE

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
