"Excellent Job as always! John is crucial to upkeep and remodel our 1980's house. This time he did pressure washing and I couldn't believe how great the house could look, looks new again. Plus, we had an assortment of necessary repairs involving gutters and soffit, pocket door repair, etc. I was really impressed with the beautiful job on my new master bathroom door which required a larger opening, new trim, new door. The job was completed with in the time the owner committed to and the materials used were good quality . "I got estimates from three companies, all with good reviews on Angie?s List, to replace the upstairs carpet and stair carpet with laminate.  All three came out to the house to inspect the job site, take measurements and provide quotes.  The quotes ranged from $9k to $7k for the same laminate with Mr. Halfon having the lowest price.  Price was not my only criteria but, since Mr. Halfon had good reviews, an experienced crew and was available to start work as soon as the product arrived, he seemed to be the best choice.   I think the main reason I selected him was that he was ?hands on?.  The other folks I was dealing with were
salesman/estimators and the companies were larger.  I?ve had issues in the past with salesmen/estimators/designers not communicating effectively with the folks who actually do the work.  Mr. Halfon?s crew contacted him whenever there was an issue and he came out to the house while work was in progress.  He responded promptly to my inquiries and quickly addressed my concerns.
Overall, the job was very well done.  After removing the old carpet, they took the time to carefully clean and prep the subfloor.  The upstairs laminate was installed with only one transition at the bathroom door (with bathroom tile) and it looks great.  The only issue was the stairs and that was due to the fact that I selected a laminate that did not have full treads but I insisted on using full treads because I was concerned that raised stair noses would be a tripping hazard.  Mr. Halfon did his best to find full stair noses in a laminate that most closely matched the selected style and his installer did his best to transition between the two laminates as smoothly as possible.  If I were doing it over, I would probably select a laminate that came with full treads and everyone?s job would be easier.
The crew started the job on a Friday, worked Saturday and Monday (holiday) and finished up Tuesday.  They were polite and
efficient and, when the job was done, they carefully put all the furniture back and thoroughly cleaned up.

"It was a very pleasant experience. I spoke with James over the phone and told him the type and color choices I would like to see.  He came same day and brought a few samples in my price range/style.  We arranged for installation next day.  The installer called next day while en route.  Three very nice men came and immediately got to work.  They moved all my heavy furniture and put it right back after install.  With the threat of rain looming, the lead installer pre-cut the carpet for each room.  Three quarters into the install it started to rain, and they all ran out and brought in the carpet and pads.  They did an absolutely beautiful job!!  I could not be more pleased.  They were fast, courteous, professional and experts in their craft. Living Room, game room, 2 bedrooms, 2 halls and a set of stairs - 1100 sq foot covered in 6 hours. Wow!!  I am a happy camper :)
