"We used Jacuzzi to replace an old bathtub, and converted it into a shower only bathroom. The installer Mike L. was very courteous and professional. The shower looks great and works very well. Would use them again for any future needs."

"After I fell in the tub in my new home, it was always my intention to replace the tub and the tiny, slippery shower cubicle with a safe walk-in shower. Going with Premier was a no brainer they installed a gorgeous, SAFE walk-in shower customized especially for me. The floor has grooves that keep me from slipping. There are two hand hold bars that keep me steady on my feet. They even installed a stone bench inside the custom shower stall so that I can sit comfortably when needed. Premier offers so many colors of real stone that it was hard to choose. The installers were knowledgeable, friendly and polite. Way to Premier!"

"My wife and I decided to remodel out master bath and do a partial remodel of our guest bath. We contacted some companies to get bids. Limitless was not the low bidder but we felt they were right for our job. First, Aimee came out and consulted with us on the scope of our job and provided guidance on what/how to do the remodel. She provided estimates on the job and also was a major help in selecting tile, flooring, lighting, etc. She also explained the Limitless process, so we knew what to expect. Jeremiah, the EVP, did a walkthrough with us to verify the plan and prices and there were zero surprises. Kiki became our project consultant for the entire process, and she was excellent, adjusting to the changes that came up, keeping us informed on material deliveries, who would be at our house and when. Schiller was our main installer and his work is absolutely outstanding. He did the plumbing, woodwork, rebuilding shower and tub areas, etc. Painting was done by Ramone and Miquel and the Glass work was done by Steven. As others have said I would give them more than 5 stars (A+), if possible. Highly recommended."

"For such a relatively small job, this one was interesting.  Since the house is 28 years old and built on a slab, there were some fascinating challenges, in my perspective.   In replacing the old modular shower with a new modular shower (of a different size) The new show had the drain in a different place.  Therefore, the concrete floor had to be drilled out and some old plumbing replaced.   Also, the footprint of the showers were different, so a creative tiling job had to be performed.   The end product of the shower was better than I expected. If I had the money, I would definitely have this team build a tile shower, but, alas, the modular was what I requested.   <br /> The granite top and faucets were installed with relative ease.  We wanted to have a new faucet and handles put on a garden tub, but after attempting to remove the old bathtub faucet, it was determined that the faucet was not removable from the top.  The team would have to go in though the sheet rock in another room to replace the faucet.  Needless to say, we eliminated that part of the project.   However, we do have new handles for the tub.   Also, an old tub drain cover was removed and replaced. <br /> Dwight sub-contracted most of the work to Fat Boy Builders.   What a hoot.  These two guys, Anthony and Tracy, better known as "Tiny" and "Slim" kept us in stitches the entire time they were on the job.  These two guys showed their talent and skill with all the tearing out and replacement.  As funny as they were, they were totally serious about customer satisfaction.   We knew the work would be "subbed out".  We were informed of that initially; however, Dwight stayed in constant contact with the team, and Dwight assumed full responsibility for all issues and resolutions.   On the last day of the job, Dwight personally came back to perform all final "punch out" items. <br /> I learned that I definitely do NOT want to be in the construction business.  There are too many challenges that require creative solutions.  This team was creative, personable, and fun to watch and interact with.   I learned to expect the unexpected, be patient, and try not to lose sleep over an issue that is unresolved at the end of the day.  I am the worrier type, and I simply needed to learn to trust the team to come up with appropriate, creative solutions.    Concrete slabs present their own set up issues.  In retrospect, I am surprised that Dwight even took this small, but challenging job.  A man of less character might have walked away from this situation once the challenges began to arise. <br /> Also, sometimes good results take time.  Even though the estimated time to do the work was slightly exceeded, it was worth being patient and not rushing to completion.   Rushing to completion could have easily resulted in bad decisions about some of the issues that arose.  I will say that, once the job was started, Dwight did not leave us hanging on completing the job.  Someone was working on the job every day until completion. <br /> I'm sure that each remodeling experience is unique, but at the end of the day, I am glad I picked West Georgia Build Design. <br />"

FAQs for shower installation and replacement projects in Atlanta, GA

Replacing your tub with a shower can modernize your bathroom and improve accessibility, often providing a high return on investment. However, if it's the only bathtub in your home, removing it may decrease resale value, as many buyers look for at least one bathtub. Consider your long-term plans and consult a real estate professional if resale value is a concern.

While showers cost slightly more to install than tubs, the overall expense depends on various factors such as materials, size, and features. A tub installation costs $2,400 to $8,800 on average, whereas showers average $2,000 to $9,400. Custom designs, luxury fixtures, or extensive plumbing work can increase costs for both options. It's important to assess your specific needs and budget when deciding between installing a shower or a tub.

Converting a tub to a shower generally takes between one and three days. The timeline depends on the complexity of the project, materials chosen, and whether plumbing modifications are necessary. Installing a standard prefabricated shower can be completed quickly, while custom tile work or extensive plumbing changes may extend the project's duration. Planning accordingly can help minimize disruptions during the conversion.

Converting a tub to a shower offers several benefits, including saving space and making your bathroom feel more open and modern. Showers improve accessibility, especially for those with mobility challenges, by eliminating the need to step over a high tub wall. Additionally, updating to a stylish shower can enhance your bathroom's aesthetic appeal and may increase your home's resale value if another tub is available elsewhere in the house.

Choosing between a shower stall and a custom shower depends on your budget and preferences. Prefabricated stalls are less expensive and faster to install but offer limited styles. Custom showers allow personalization of size, materials, and features but cost more and require professional installation. Evaluate your needs and budget to select the best option for your space.

If you’re converting a tub to a shower, you may want to consider remodeling your whole bathroom. The ROI on bathroom remodels is high (over 70%), so you can enjoy an upgraded bathroom while you live in your home and get your money back if you decide to sell later. The average cost to remodel a bathroom is around $6,600 to $16,600, so factor in this price range when you’re budgeting for your project.

Converting a tub to a shower alone isn't easy to DIY, so look for a bathroom remodeler near you if you decide to take on a larger bathroom remodel to ensure it's done correctly.
