"Installation went pretty good, was done over a 2 day time frame to give us time to move furniture around. Overall satisfied, but there are some areas on outside wall corners where the installers just dropped the carpet into place and allowed the rough backing to scratch and peel paint off our walls, some areas as high as 3 feet off the ground. Also, seams at doorways are pretty visible, more than our previous carpet installation. It could partly be the style of carpet, but we were led to believe this carpet would have nearly invisible seams which just is not the case."

"They make sure that everything is well taken care of. The most important thing is when they do the installation, the employees are so friendly. They go above and beyond. They make the process easy. They even helped me move a large grand piano. They have worked with me on pricing too. I wished I could give them an A+. I plan to use them in the future with some flooring in some rental properties."

"We absolutely love the new tile! It is beautiful and was very reasonably priced. We had budgeted more than the final cost, even after adding upstairs bathroom. The installers were friendly, courteous and performed excellent work. They went to great lengths to contain any mess and cleaned up promptly after the work was completed. <br />"

"The floor looks like a million bucks... they pulled the carpet and hauled it away... vacuumed everything up then started on the hardwood. It took a bit of special cutting to match up with hardwood in the adjoining room... cant tell they were laid several years apart. Then they removed the old tile in the foyer and replaced it with slate in an irregular pattern. Wow. I think they were in and out over a three day period. Cleaned up after themselves each time. Nice job guys."

"Luckily for me, I have a flexible schedule as it required several trips. Bob and I had several discussions regarding the details of the project. The vendor told me that my floor did not need to be glued and Bob agreed to and quot;loose layand quot; it. He prepped the subfloor with a leveler which required drying time. <br /> I thought I'd want him to install quarter-round or shoe molding but it looked fine without it. He did a nice job caulking along the edge of the shower and installing the reducer between the hallway carpet. I also had him replace the cove molding under the cabinetry. <br /> We plan to redo nearly all the flooring in the house. Bob measured for some future projects and took the time to discuss materials and installation with us. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Auburn, IN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
