"ClearFocus Home Inspection was very professional and thorough. I greatly appreciated the punctuality and attention to detail for a comprehensive evaluation of my house. They were called for a preliminary evaluation of my home before listing for sale. It was a lucky thing that I did as there were many things unnoticed by myself that made a big impact. The report was authored and promptly e-mailed to me within 24 hours. I will recommend ClearFocus to anyone needing this type of service. Paul Pope was the inspector that day and I would recommend asking for him."

"Mr. Frank Trust and his employee, Toby, were prompt, extremely thorough, polite, professional and so considerate. Due to a leaking garage roof, mold and mildew developed and much of the stored items were destroyed. Mr. Trust and Toby spent about 7 hours cleaning, decontaminating and power washing the structure. They even cleaned, sanitized, wrapped and packed the personal items that could be saved. They did a fantastic job. Mr. Trust is a genuinely kind man. I’ve already recommended him to a friend. Thank you so very much for the service."

"We have a property that has a small concrete patio that eventually will need replacing. About 2 yrs ago, my husband had fixed a few cracks but did not have time to address the issue this time as we had other projects going on. In this case I had hoped to take some of the workload off my husband and hired Neatniks. <br /> About the time he was scheduled to arrive, he phoned to say he was running late. He did arrive considerably later then anticpated and left sooner than what we had agreed upon via phone (hrs work and cost per Angies list) but that was not the biggest concern. It was a Friday and I get things happen and people can run behind so long as in the end, our work is not negatively impacted. <br /> He is a very nice man but his level of expertise was just not there for what was needed. After using something similar to a dremel to clean out the cracks to make the repair neater, he did not realize that he needed to use another material (I believe it's called a backer rod) to keep the concrete patch from running through, thus using way too many tubes for the areas @$12/tube. He did offer to come back another time to finish, but it was clear he did not get why this was consuming so many tubes of patch. <br /> After seeing the bill and the unfinished job, my husband found time to get the backer rod in place 1st, then used the tubed concrete patch....so honestly, as nice as the man is, we would not have him back for home repairs. I thought he knew what he was doing and clearly should have figured out the cracks were not holding the material in before wasting so many tubes at our expense. <br /> Not worth having to repair someone else's repair work.  <br /> I feel bad having to write this as I am sure by the other reviews I had read about him doing other projects he is well qualified for and again, very nice man, but just not knowledgeable for this type of repair. <br />"

"OK.. We had this done before at our old house.. an airflow analysis was done.. I received a report with detailed information as to what was needed, what would be done etc. This time, he just walked around with his infrared camera saying what was what. When i asked about gap sealing, potential water (condensation) issues, I was told they don't exist. When I said that I experienced them in our old house.. I was told there was something else. I asked about working with the crawl spaces, I was told that "if you are handy, you can do that yourself". I mentioned an area where the attached garage has a crack that flows to the crawl space.. it was ignored.. he just wanted to add baffles to the attic and blow in insulation. I believe that if all I needed was insulation, they would do a good job, but based on my previous experiences and knowledge, much more can be done."

"Matt and team at the Mold Men went above and beyond the call of duty to help us with mold remediation for a bank owned home that we purchased. The bank insisted on paying the Mold Men from funds held in escrow and would only do so after the work was done. The team did a wonderful job remediating the mold. They were timely and professional. They cleaned up perfectly after each day. The job was done right. The bank was delayed in paying the Mold Men and they handled the situation with an incredible amount of professionalism with an eye on customer service. I highly recommend them."

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Aurora, OH

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
