"Very satisfied with the whole process. Gerald did an excellent job. Arrived punctually and observed COVID protocols. Explained clearly what he was going to do and how. Showed us preliminary findings, and obtained our permission to take samples for lab testing. We felt he listened to, and responded to, our concerns. Overall a very professional experience. We’ve now received the written report and feel we got what we wanted: an objective analysis of the problem and information we need to remedy it."

"We appreciated the responsiveness and professionalism of PNW Mold Control. They did the less expensive fogging method in our attic. Tests were done by an inspector after the work was completed when we were in the process of selling the house which came back negative for mold. Very satisfied!"

"Very nice duo came - price is very reasonable. The quote was to test two areas of the house but they gave me a third test (for my unfinished basement) greatly discounted. I won’t have test results for a week so we will see."

"This company is very expensive but I was happy with the detailed report that I got. They charged me $100 for a mold alarm but did not send me any instructions and will not tell me how to use it over the phone. So that was a huge waste of money. Phillipe collected the swabs and was pretty amazing. I appreciated him taking the time to show me some of his concerns. They charge $400 for two air samples and two swabs. Very expensive. The person who called me to go over my report was amazing. She was very helpful and provided me with additional resources. If you have concerns related to toxic mold or are pursuing a lawsuit then I would recommend them but they are the most expensive"

"We literally been roasted in our house especially on the second floor with that late heatwave going on . Eric from Insulation Pro took care of our attic. Full insulation replacement. Some mold problems and vents to reconnect . I was skeptic I even tested with the thermostat furnace but it literally did the job. Couldn't be happier."

"Overall a wonderful experience. I got to experience the customer service portion and they were professional and friendly. They did some exterior mold/clean up work and we had an upstairs shower leak into the lower bathroom which turned into mold and ruined sheet rock. Colby was able make it look new. Would hire again. Good pricing too"

"I have lathe and plaster walls so having the option to have a dog come and smell was the best for us. Corinna and her dog Catalina were very professional (I have 2dogs of my own which we put outside). Catalina and Corinna are very professional pair I would highly recommend them to check for mold if your in need of this type of service. We do have mold and will be dealing with that issue. Mold is an issue in western Washington. I have been sneezing multiple times in a row when I sneeze for a few years and found out that is a mold related issue."

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Seattle, WA

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
