"It went very well. The owner, John, came with them and they came when they said they would. Moved the furniture, removed the rug and pad, and replaced the furniture. Very nice company to deal with and the rug looks great."

"All materials for the new floors were delivered on time.  Installation was also on time.  Some sawdust set off fire alarms during installation, but that was resolved.  One piece of repair on a pre-existing floor was forgotten but was subsequently made good with a separate trip to install, which was good service.  Floors look excellent. <br />"

"Completed a fairly major basement renovation with KBA a few months ago. KBA served as the general contractor, and was responsible for subcontracting specialty (e.g., pluming and electrical) work. Scope of work included demolition and removal of a substantial part of an outdated basement, new electrical and lighting, new flooring, ceiling, and walls, interior painting, restoration of staircase, and total renovation of a basement bathroom, including addition of a new shower, as well as handling all permitting and inspection (code) requirements. Although there were a few minor hangups and delays, as can be expected with any big project, we were very happy with both the timeline and the outcome. The quality of the work was great, and the professionalism of all staff was outstanding. This was a large project that we were hesitant to move forward with at first, but once we started working with KBA, everything went pretty smoothly. Very good experience overall and would recommend to others."

"From the initial visit to their showroom in Greenville, and the two subsequent visits to my home prior to installation, they were professional and friendly.  I would highly recommend them for any flooring service you need.  They are a family-owned and operated business that really goes all the way with customer service. <br />"

"It went wonderfully. <br /> Richard and his crew (we met Buck and Richard, his son) were extremely professional, knowledgeable, willing to work to solve challenges, skilled, and a delight to have in our home. <br /> Richard helped us to select both the type of flooring and the style (floating vs. nailed) to resolve our problem with our prior floor. <br /> Our prior floor felt like a trampoline and the boards did not fit tightly together. (We could feel our cats bouncing the floor from across the room). He and his crew ensured that the subfloor was tight to the joists, that the joists were properly made (they were), and that the new floor was not too tight, nor too loose. <br /> I should note that Richard did not set the price, though I found it reasonable for the work done and the quality of the wood (this was in a very big room). We bought the floor through a company and Richard was the installer. However, it did not make sense to rate the company, as they hire out to installers, and the great work done was performed by Richard and crew. We'll be going with him directly for our future flooring needs. <br /> To put it succinctly: We felt our floor was installed by someone who genuinely cares about his work and who treated the job with as much importance as if it was done in his own home. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Baldwinville, MA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
