"I was a little nervous about ordering windows on the internet using measurements I'd taken myself, but I loved the design on the website so, initially I only ordered 2 windows to check the quality, my ability to measure accurately and the company's ability to build to my measurements. "Lonny at Heartwood was excellent to work with.  He made sure we understood everything that was going on, kept us appraised of issues and made excellent recommendations regarding our house.  Communication was A+++ (which is very important to my husband and I).  I felt that he not only worked with us with our insurance claim, but also fought for us to make sure we got a fair replacement for our damaged property.  He also broke the process down for us-- asking us to select replacements/colors/etc for things as they were needed instead of requiring it all right away; but provided us a full list up front so we could get to things as we were able. <br /> I appreciated Lonny's willingness to work through the scenarios with us; he entertained our ideas and gave us quotes and opinions when we asked for them.  Every time we stopped by the house, all of the workers who were there (whether from Heartwood or a company working with them) were polite, helpful and friendly.  For a bad, stressful situation; it was as good as I could have ever imagined it.  We're back in our house now and happy with all the work done.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Heartwood to anyone. <br />"

"I had several small projects I needed to have completed at my home: <br /> <br /> <ul> <li>- Small masonry repair to an outside wall, some decorative stone had fallen off the house during the winter</li> <li>- Door to patio rehung or realigned</li> <li>- Garage drain repaired or rerouted</li> </ul> <br /> I contacted the company via Angie's List and they responded in a prompt and friendly manner.  It is a family owned business and one of the family members came out within a few days to estimate the work.  He was great to deal with, very professional.  The estimate was on the high side but I don't mind paying for quality work.  I signed off on the estimate the same week.  I was told that it would be "at least couple of weeks" before they could get to the work.  I was not in a huge hurry and had no issue with this. <br /> <br /> A couple of weeks came and went, and again, and again with no word from the contractor.  Finally, after about 6 weeks i was so concerned about impending winter weather (October in Duluth) that I called and asked for an update.  I got the impression they had simply forgotten about me. <br /> <br /> They scheduled the work for a couple of weeks after that, and did show up on schedule.  Total time from estimate to completion of tasks was 2 months.  In my opinion this was a long time given the light nature of the work. <br /> <br /> The quality of the work was just OK. <br /> <br /> The garage drain issue required that they dig a hole in my front yard (which I approved to be sure), and that they build a catch basin for me.  This required some unplanned extra effort and was the piece of work i was most impressed with. <br /> <br /> The masonry repair was completed and the work was fair. <br /> <br /> The repairs to my patio door were not impressive.  It is a large swinging wood door that was likely improperly hung when the house was built and has never closed correctly.  When the estimate was done we talked about how the door would probably need to be completely rehung.  When they did the work they simply adjusted the door as much as they could without rehanging it.  It doesn't close much better than it did before. <br /> <br /> Overall I would work with them again.  Once I reminded them that i was on the waiting list they did react promptly and were professional to deal with.  The reality is that they answer their phones and are an actual business, which puts them well ahead of the majority of contractors available in Duluth."

"We contacted Morin's in the fall to get a quote. Brian came out, discussed options and took measurements. We met him and Dan (owner) at their store to make final color/style choices. It took a few weeks and we received a quote and negotiated a price with some options (which we ended up doing in the end - gutters, soffit/facia). We set a delayed start date for spring, as we had other work happening first that needed to be completed before the siding could be done. <br /> In late winter, Brian contacted us to arrange an exact date. Of course, the work ended up commencing during late March or early April, right when we started getting snow dumped on us every few days! The poor guys doing the siding spent as much time shoveling as they did siding. I offered my snow blower for their use, but they declined - they didn't want to risk breaking it, which I understood and appreciated. <br /> They completed the siding, soffits and facia in short order. The gutters followed soon. We added on the work for the front porch railings and that was completed as soon as the materials were available (within a couple weeks). All the work was done well and the workers were professional and personable. Unlike our previous experience with Morin's, this time the clean-up was not as thorough, though this was a result of the time of year and all the snow. We're still finding nails and siding shards in the landscaping around the house perimeter, but this is a minor inconvenience. <br /> We've used Morin's multiple times now, and consider their service and products to be superior. For what one receives, the price is fair, which is all I ask. We continually have received positive comments from neighbors, family and friends on how nice our house now looks. Even another contractor doing some work for us commented on the nice work that was done on our siding!"

"They guy that came out is very good to work with. He does professional work and easy to talk to and communicate with. He's flexible. He has a couple of ideas and he try to explain why this other way would work better and why. So, it wasn't like he wouldn't work with your ideas but he would give you more input on those to make different conclusion or add to your idea."

"I contacted Dennis and within a day or so he called me back to set up a time to look at the project. He showed up on time and made his assessment. A couple days later he called me with the quote and we set up a time for him to start the project. He had to come 3 separate times because the ceiling needed a lot of work. He was able to fix an extremely uneven ceiling and make it look good. I'm very happy with the work he did and would definitely use him again for another drywall project. <br />"
