He worked with me to get what I wanted done down to the budget I wanted. He made some great suggestions to improve on the ideas I had. Mike and Eli were the install team. They were super! They were on time, very polite and got everything on this big job done by 3 pm that afternoon. They cleaned up behind themselves, even vacuuming the floor around the new shelves. Mike and Eli noticed a problem with the shelves that were going on the wall near my pull down attic steps. They told me about the problem and explained my options- a potential problem solved because they were so observant and careful of the plans when doing the install. I love the shelves and Murphy bed! "I had a 50-year-old house with a cinderblock basement wall that had water slowly coming through. I researched the various firms that did waterproofing and had three highly rated firms come out for an estimate. The first contractor didn’t even bring a flashlight and just looked around and said to keep an eye on it. The second gentlemen did provide detailed estimate and carefully explained the problem. Randy, the owner, from Chamberlin Washington provided a similar diagnosis and estimate. His estimate was not only a little less expensive but he looked at the entire house and found other things that could use some maintenance. This is what I liked about Randy – he looked at the whole house and discovered several smaller things that should be fixed to avoid issues down the road. These were all things I knew about already but I’m glad someone took the time to examine the entire house and not just the one issue I was having. We had then not only waterproof the outside wall but also fill the expansion joints in our patio and seal one basement window as well as re-point some mortar joints in the brink chimney. When the crew came they went to work. They also did an admirable job protecting our plants. An old section of of a 6' high stockade fence had to be removed and I bough a new section and the crew was happy to put that up. When they water tested the wall they found a small leak. They re-did the sealant and that did the trick. Randy came out and supervised critical parts of the job. He was great to work with and happily fixed a few small things at the end. Randy really cares about doing the job right. I am 100% pleased with the work they did. I watched over much of the repair and everything was done correct and by the book. Overall I can't say enough about how pleased I was with Chamberlin-Washington and their work. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone."

"The project started with the addition being constructed and then the new kitchen was built into the space, this included a custom 13 ft live edge maple bar – which was done my Mike. After completion of the new kitchen, the old kitchen was demolished and the new construction started. Mike was extremely helpful during the entire project – he had lots of great ideas and worked with us on getting the little details that we wanted. He helped us find the maple slab, that would later become one of the most beautiful live edge bars that I have seen, and he pointed us in the right direction for other items and contractors to get the finishing touches we were looking for (Flooring & Cabinets). Mike was the General Contractor and had a mostly great set of subs that worked for him, he also coordinated and worked with the other contractors that we hired – Stove Installation, Cabinets, and Flooring. This was an overall $250K project and yes, we will hire Mike again – we are already talking to him about finishing out our basement and another Addition (New Master Bath with steam room). It was pleasure working with Mike and I look forward to starting the new projects soon. As I said, Mike and his crews are not the fastest working folks - this project took almost a year to complete - some of this was due to weather and some was due to coordination of Mike's Sub-Contractors."

"Everything went exactly according to plan, even as the plan changed. Conducted a local move from Alexandria to Herndon. Initially had two Valets delivered. We filled them up and had them taken into storage. We then had two more delivered and then two more when it became apparent we would need additional ones. We had all six (four at the house and two in storage) all delivered to the new house on the same day and then all six removed on the same day. <br /> 1) Price was very reasonable and better than other options given what we were doing. <br /> 2) More economical to use the Valet's in pairs to save on delivery charge (same charge for one or two). <br /> 3) The cube Valet's are more convenient that longer containers but note that some long items (ladders or even extra long couches) won't fit. <br /> 4) Be aware they only move containers on Mondays and Thursdays. We planned accordingly and it worked out fine. <br /> 5) No hidden fees or charges. There is a fee for each combined delivery/pickup and a monthly rental fee for the container. That's it. No fuel surcharges. No mileage. Etc. <br /> The only "knock" is you don't get a window (other than the day) for pick-up or delivery. Granted, if just the day is fine then OK but if you want to have a delivery in a certain window (i.e. the morning) that is more of a challenge. In our case, moving six of these things during a week day in DC traffic was no small feat so I was happy with the day. <br /> Talk to Wendy! She suffered through us adapting the plan several times as we adjusted our space needs and staging to get them to the new house. <br />"

"Project went very well. Steve was incredibly responsive to messages and e-mails. Since the work was being done at a rental property coordination of site visits are always a little harder then normal but Steve handled it very well and was professional all of the time. Steve showed up when he said he would (for both the estimate visit and ultimately when he did the repair work to the kitchen cabinets and installed the new ventilation hood). I would definitely use him and his firm again for projects in the house."
