FOSTER FLOORING

"We visited all the carpet stores in the area and were impressed with the knowledge and assistance we received at Foster Flooring. Both Ron and Glen were very helpful and friendly. They really know their stuff! At other stores, the sales people could offer us little more than "here's what we have." Ron gave us detailed explanations of the differences in the carpet brands and materials and helped us decide which would work best for us. Ron and Glen are very easy to work with. They are happy to let you take your time, look at samples all you want, and answer questions when you have them. No high pressure sales tactics. Once we made up our mind, Foster Flooring ordered the carpeting we selected and made it into an area rug. That went very quickly, and they delivered it in less than a week. They called to arrange a delivery time, and showed up exactly when they said they would. We're very satisfied with our new rug, and our experience with Foster Flooring. It's clear they are very dedicated to providing good customer service. We would definitely buy from them again."

"The two gentlemen came on time and did a very professional job. They got right to business and were able to make our bedroom area rug look like new! They also did an excellent job on our upholstery and were able to remove wine stains (from our kids), candy stains (from our grandkids), and the dog poop brought in on everyone's shoes. My wife and I are very pleased and highly recommend USA Carpet Cleaning."

"The salesmen were very knowledgeable and explained to us that we wanted carpets without loops, and the showed us various alternatives, and recommended one of the least expensive alternatives that was on sale and in stock. A worker came out and measured the next business day, and the carpet was beautifully installed a few days later. We couldn't be more pleased."

"Our carpet purchase and install was top notch! John and Marie know what they are doing for sure. It was an enjoyable experience from start to finish! The only reason we wouldn’t use them again is because we left the area! Unless they want to come to Florida! Highly recommend their services"

"We got them on Angie’s List. That’s how we found them. They have a beautiful showroom with salesman. He is very good. They have a nice selection. Prices were okay. They weren’t terrible but they weren’t cheap. They did a beautiful job installing. It’s a huge job."

"The carpet looks great!  It was really nasty looking and smelly when I called them, due to a dog soiling accident. Although I wasn't aware of the delivery charge, it was no problem, as they did a wonderful job. Would definitely call them again! <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Beacon, NY

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
