"I want to thank Roman and his crew for getting in and getting the job done quickly. It was a house rewire and update of switches and outlets along with adding a generator inlet and shop outlet and several other improvements to my very messy wiring that had been added onto over the years I have been in my home. I made changes to the original plan which was competed at a little higher cost then original estimate. The breaker panel was moved to different location than originally planned in the estimate so involved more wire and work. Overall, they did a great job and would recommend them if someone needed electrical work done. "

"I had an urgent and potentially dangerous electrical issue yesterday with my solar panel service disconnect, and One Stop Electric LLC really came through for me. I called around 10 AM after noticing what I thought might be a serious problem. They responded quickly and were at my place just a few hours later. When Nick checked it out, he found a major hazard, the main 200 amp service line was loose, burnt, and exposing bare, corroded wire due to overheating from improper installation by the prior electrician. It honestly could have turned into a very dangerous situation. Nick quickly figured out what was going on and immediately shut off the solar disconnect. He removed the damaged wiring and replaced everything, including installing a new 60 amp shutoff. The whole job was handled professionally and with safety as the top priority. I highly recommend One Stop Electric LLC to anyone needing electrical work. Great service and a great experience overall!"

FAQs for electrical switches, outlets & fixtures install or repair projects in Beaverton, OR

To select and hire an electrician for your light switch installation, start by evaluating candidates as you would for any skilled position. Ask detailed questions, request a written quote, and verify their licensing credentials. This careful screening prevents unexpected fees and ensures every aspect of the installation, including any drywall repairs, complies with code.

A light switch can malfunction due to compromised wiring or overheating conditions. Faulty connections and excess heat diminish the switch’s performance. If you hear crackling, popping, or hissing sounds when toggling the switch, this indicates active electrical faults that pose a safety hazard and demand immediate professional inspection. Prompt attention prevents further damage and ensures reliable operation.

Installing a light switch takes 30 minutes or less, on average. The installation time depends on the switch type, with dimmer switches requiring additional time compared to standard on-off switches. While the hardware replacement might be completed in 15 minutes, it's essential to adhere to safety protocols, like turning off the circuit breaker and verifying there's no power, for a safe and code-compliant installation.
