"UGLY DUCKLING INTO A BEAUTIFUL SWAN If I could give TEN stars i would. Highly experienced in what Kirk Morgan and his crew does. Meticulously detailed expertise on details even offering ways to be better than I expected to be. Patiently explaining many options with pro and con. Worked Monday through Friday all day long. Consistently showed up. Corrected what the previous two contractors had messed up to bring to high quality look and structural integrity. I have recommended to people needing work done or house built and will continue to recommend to anyone I can. Wellllllll worth the money I spent. High quality workmanship and straightforward on what needs to be done Lemme change something. FIFTEEN STARS!!!!!"

"Robert and his crew did some extensive remodeling for my needs. He installed a new full bathroom, remodeled one bathroom for wheelchair access, and remodeled a third bathroom. His crew installed new tile floors, and repaired the old tile floors. They installed wide doors exterior doors to accommodate wheelchair. And they enclosed a patio into an insulated sun-room. Robert was easy to work with, and was real reasonable. He also did a lot of work under Veterans Administration and ADA guidelines and was qualified and approved to do veteran Adapted Housing. I highly recommend Robert and his crew."

"I had twice contracted individuals to remodel my bathtub. Converting it from a bathtub to a shower only. <br>They didn't do a good job, water leaked all over the floor. <br>I called around and got some estimates. Three contractors came and all had different prices and were trying to take shortcuts. <br>I found Howard Home Improvement number and gave them a call. <br>We set up a date to when they could come and give me an estimate. <br>Contractor showed up on time, was very professional and courteous. After explaining what I wanted done, he took his time and determine what would be the best thing to fix my situation. He then gave me an estimate. <br>His estimate definitely was the lowest from the other contractors. He gave me some options. <br>He was very detailed on what he was going to do and the type of flooring he was going to use. We set up a start date. And also picked the color for the shower floor. <br>He started on the date we had discussed and even moved the finish date because we weren't home on certain days. <br>We were very pleased with this individuals work and would recommend him to other people. <br> <br>Thank you Howard Home Improvement for a job well done !   <br>              <br> <br>"

"lleenWhen the tenants move out we are going to remodel the bathroom down to the studs. But when this leak appeared a couple of months before their departure, I asked the Power team to make it work for now. They did.  They will be doing my bath remodel. <br /> They have worked for me many times, roofing, repairs, they rebuilt a shed and much more. I highly recommend them! <br />"

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Belton, TX

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
