"Kitchen Magic sent a salesperson, then an engineer, and finally the contractor-Will. Stephanie kept in contact before, during, and after my project was complete. They were very clear about the refacing procedure and it turned out beautifully. I got 2 other quotes from reputable companies and they charged thousands more for less services- like new drawer boxes that soft close and matching kick plates. Kitchen Magic is definitely the best and most cost effective in the industry."

"Goldman Home Improvement recently remodeled my kitchen and master bath. Their crew are incredibly professional! We chose designer cabinets which take a bit longer, and the results are incredible and very high quality! Both the kitchen and master bath and many other projects they completed throughout my entire home are perfect and exactly how I dreamed they would turn out! Several friends and family have been to my newly remodeled home and they can’t get over how amazing it looks! The quality of the work is beyond my expectations! Goldman Home Improvement is a company I would definitely hire again; a truly top notch company!"

"Scott had previously built & installed a shallow pull out drawer with 2 raised & attached shallow trays in a bathroom base cabinet; please refer to my January 14, 2014 Angie's List review for 'nuts & bolts' details. This time, Scott made & installed 2 independent shallow glide out drawers for a narrow & deep base kitchen cabinet, where so many things would end up 'shoved in the back of the cabinet & lost forever'. Now everything glides forward on beefy, smooth acting pull outs, & is easily accessed. Once again the fit, finish, workmanship, & installation has been excellent. The incredibly close tolerance measurements, for a true custom, 'always been there,' look remains amazing, & is a testament to Scott's integrity & craftsmanship, which has been exceptional throughout. Without hesitation, I would recommend & hire him again."

"The technician arrived on time and completed the project in three hours. Overall the bathtub looks great, like it's brand new again. I would have given the quality an "A" rating, however one thing I'm not satisfied with is that the technician didn't remove the old caulking from where the bathtub meets the tile surround; instead he applied glazing right over it. After all the sanding and scraping down of the old finish, which took quite a while, I don't understand why he didn't remove the old caulking before applying the new finish. If I had known that he wasn't going to remove the old caulking then I would have removed it myself before the appointment. Now the new finish is already chipping and peeling away from the old caulking. Eventually the caulking will need to be removed carefully so as not to risk peeling the new finish from the bathtub."

"Pedro arrived when scheduled. Gave us estimate on glass replacement. He said it would take two weeks for the glass replacements to be made. Two weeks passed and he called to setup an installation appointment. He arrived with a helper. In an hours time he had the glass replaced in the tops of four different window. He is very professional, careful, and neat. The windows he repaired look as good as when they came out of the factory. I would definitely use Pedro again. <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Bergen-point, NJ

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
