"Carpet Carousel has an amazing section of carpet and a truly amazing staff. We had gone to a couple of other carpet stores before finding Carpet Carousel. It was definitely the best thing that we could have done. We went in with multiple questions and they we willing to answer them all, something that the other place was not able to do. They even made sure that we had asked all our questions and made sure we got a sample of the carpet we ultimately picked. The service we received from everyone was our excellent. The install team was excellent. Very friendly and they made sure we were totally satisfied with the work before they left. We couldn’t be happier with the service we received from Carpet Carousel. We will definitely be contacting them the next time we need carpet replaced."

"I have done a lot of home renovation projects in the past, and I wish ALL contractors were like Mike. From start to finish of this ENORMOUS project, Mike was amazing to work with. He showed up when he said he was going to show up, he responded promptly to emails and texts, and he remembered all of the little details that we discussed along the way. His estimate was accurate and included all of the components that we talked about, and then we made some adjustments to the original estimate, which were also perfectly captured. And on top of all that, his quote/estimate was one of the most reasonable ones that we received (and we got 6 quotes). He was so knowledgeable with the information and advice that he provided, and I had complete trust that he would do a superb job. We had to move out of the house while the work was ongoing. He kept in touch the entire time, providing updates regularly. I never doubted that things were going well and according to plan. He had a team of two additional guys and they were also very pleasant and very hard working. And the work that was done was unbelievable quality. It looks so beautiful - a complete transformation of the home! In addition to the flooring, we paid Mike to install new 6 inch baseboards, which was a great addition. I would recommend Mike and Universal Flooring to anyone who is considering new hardwood floors or any flooring work for that matter. We will certainly use him again in the future if ever needed. THANK YOU MIKE!!!"

"I'll start off with a little back story. I originally wanted to purchase from a big box store, but learned that the install process was hit or miss. Some people liked their install experience, others did not. Because of this, I decided to shop local and found Framingham Carpet via Angie's list. Carol and Chuck were excellent to work with. Carol helped match the color we wanted for the install. Turns out it was the same manufacturer as the big box store. A couple days later, Chuck came out to measure carpet, answer questions, and provide a quote on the spot. After purchasing we scheduled the install (about two weeks later). The installers showed up right on-time. They were friendly and explained everything they were going to do and did an excellent job. They left the house as clean as it was before the install. Next time I need to purchase flooring, I will be visiting Framingham Carpet Center!"

"The company responded immediately to my voicemail.  Confirmed a date and time and were punctual. <br>I have a wool runner on my staircase and my dog had chewed through the carpet on 2 steps.  The pattern had to be matched and  Jim did a great job!  He was even nice to my dog!  LOL!"

"AJ ARose is the Best carpet place we found. We had been to both of the box stores and a couple of local places and have been really turned off about their practices and the lack of accountability and transparency. We finally landed at AJ Rose and I wish I had gone there sooner. The sales people are all friendly and they will help you in the showroom but they are not pushy and will let you look around. They are happy to answer any questions you might have and help you find samples or a color that you’re looking for. Everyone that we dealt with was super professional very helpful and super punctual. Both the person who is coming to measure and the guys that came to install our carpet were there five minutes before our quoted time. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this company. Our carpet looks and feels amazing. We have a strange built-in bed platform and I thought it would take them quite a while to do it but clearly they were professionals and it took them no time at all."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Berkley, MA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
