"The actual carpet cleaner did a great job but the owner stated a window time between 10-1. Furniture was moved into other rooms however he kept delaying the time. He called several times that day to delay than last call was to ask if I wanted to do it another day. I replied no, since furniture was moved. The carpet cleaner came late and the owner refused to give a discount stating I already received 1 for room deodorizer which would smell great. There carpet was clean but there was no "great" smell."

"If you take nothing else away from this review know this: Bob Young, the owner of Bethlehem Gallery of Floors is a man of integrity. He is professional and knowledgeable and stands four-square behind his product and installation. I say this after experiencing the most egregious customer disregard by a product supplier representative of TOLI Flooring Corporation. After repeated attempts to have a TOLI Company representative view a possible product failure, it was Mr. Young and Bethlehem Gallery of Floors who stepped into the vacuum to resolve our flooring issue at his own expense. I am talking about 504 square feet of flooring replaced and installed twice for a total of 1008 square feet, a three-day installation with a crew of three each time. Mr. Young was not obligated to do the replacement, but did so as a matter of personal integrity and customer satisfaction. While my wife and I did not appreciate or enjoy the presumed product failure, and subsequent dislocation due to removal and replacement, we are ever so grateful to Bob Young and Bethlehem Gallery of Floors for resolving our dilemma to our complete satisfaction. If you want to deal with a company for whom the words customer satisfaction are more than a tag line, then we heartily recommend Bethlehem Gallery of Floors and Bob Young! You will not be disappointed!"

"The guys who came to install the floors were excellent and professional. They removed all carpets, moved all furniture and installed wood floors for three rooms in a timely manner. Meg was very helpful in picking out a floor that fit perfectly for us. Garrett came the day of installation and checked to make sure the job was done properly. Really nice people. Ty Meg and Garrett."

"A wonderful experience. Gary Ward and his son Kevin are not only passionate about their business but also very knowledgable about the history, creation, and composition of the rugs. And, they do not just sell rugs; they are hands-on repairers and recreators of rugs, recovering lost artistry one stitch at a time. We found a rich array of antique and semi-antique rugs to choose from and happily made several our own."

"Went really well, brought the wrong padding for the carpet and didn't have enough tile to finish the job so they went back and got the correct padding but had to order more tile. Workers were very friendly. I would use this company again. Finished job looks great. <br />"

"The dimples in the carpet are history. It looks much better. My only criticisms are: a small chunk of carpet is missing next to a baseboard and they put a small chip in an adjoining room's ceramic tile. The latter happened because they did not place anything under their heavy "machinery"."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Bethlehem, PA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
