"Redlands (Big Bear) Moving came to our rescue. We initially hired a scam criminal moving firm posing as a nationwide mover. They loaded half our 3 bedroom household onto their truck and raised their price over $10k while holding our belongings hostage. I called Redlands at 9 PM after calling my attorney and the County Sheriff. The attorney said his fees would be more, with no guarantees, and the Sheriff said this was a civil matter. Redlands gave us good advise, told us to place a "stop payment" on the check to cover the bloated fees and negotiated the release of our belongings for a ransom payment of $1,456. The owner and President of Redlands went to the storage locker where our belongings were held and recovered the items in their truck. They then loaded the remaining furniture in our house, along with the recovered items, into a 53 foot semi and delivered them to our new home 800 miles away two days later. Nothing Redlands touched was damaged. Many dishes, glasses and pieces of fine china the criminals took were destroyed, and other valuables were stolen. If it wasn't for Redlands we would have lost everything.. Thank You Redlands!"

"I recently had a kitchen drain snaked by Top Contender drain specialist Inc. They did a great job. I've hired them numerous times over the years because I own an apartment building, they've done all kinds of work for me. They've done everything from jackhammering the cement to get out a bad pipe, to climbing on the roof to access the vent pipe, all types of repairs, they have consistently been excellent. When they work in apartments that are occupied by tenants I always get a happy response from the tenants because everything gets fixed right and they clean up their work after they're done. I've even hired them to work on my home and my parents home. I have no hesitation in recommending them, recently they showed up on a holiday weekend with a smile and took care of my clogged drain that was affecting three different apartments. "Carpets looked great. One room had some sort of stain that would not come out, although they tried various solvents in an attempt to remove it. The carpets dried fairly quickly (3-4 hours), with no residue or funny smell. They arrived right on time, and removed equipment carefully."

"First, the pros:
1.  The workmanship on the roof itself was very good.  We have had several significant rainfalls and no issue with leakage.
2.  The overall cost was competitive, and in fact slightly lower than other bids received.
3.  The company was willing to work with us on an installment plan that made it easier for us to pay for the new roof.
There were, however, several issues we had with Octagon:
1. The project took longer than anticipated (about 3 weeks in total).  Some of this was due to extreme heat during the first stages of the project, but even after accounting for these days it still took about a week longer than anticipated.  It took numerous phone calls with the owner to finally get a larger crew on site to finish the work in a timely manner.
2. Overall, the owner was not very communicative during the project.  It took a lot of proactive phone calls to get updates on the schedule, additional costs, etc.  The owner rarely visited the work site, instead relying on a foreman.
3.  We had an issue with fascia boards that were installed poorly and not painted to match the white trim of the house.  Ultimately the owner agreed to fix the boards and paint them, but only after repeated calls and us withholding final payment.
