"When we were away on a trip, my cat (Sashes) got trapped in a bedroom for 2 days! She ripped up the carpet trying to get underneath the door. The damage was substantial, shredded about 4 inches into the bedroom, & separated from the wall, too. Since we rent our home, I was in a panic! Abbey was the first listed in the phonebook. They came out the next morning: three hispanic fellows in an old, unmarked van. The older of the three had his work order with him, showing to me, happily, thru the window. Even though none of them could speak more than 3 or 4 words in english, they were cheerful, and prompt at getting right to work. The job was done in less than 40 minutes, and the result was a doorsill-meets-tile PERFECTLY! It looks and feels way better than it did before Sashes got ahold of it. I must note that, while they unloaded their tools, one of them accidently dropped his entire box of carpet nails. Probably about 200 of them were all over my driveway, & around my vehicle. Thankfully, he took the time to pick up every single nail or tack he dropped, while the others went to work on my carpet. So, no flat tires, no cracked tile or grout, no carpet tacks felt through the floor, no visible warping or carpet wrinkles, and Sashes is just fine!"

"I bought a house that had 7-year-old carpet throughout, and I hated it. I decided to replace all the carpet with laminate flooring. At the time, I didn't know much about it, so I started doing some research and shopping around for the right flooring. One of my co-workers recommended Crazy Dave's. He'd replaced all the flooring in his house (some carpet, some laminate) and had gotten all of his flooring at Crazy Dave's. So, I stopped by one morning to talk to them. They arranged for someone to come out to the new house and take measurements, and when I went back to look at what they had available, I found an absolutely beautiful floor (Wild Pecan from KronoSwiss) that I fell absolutely in love with. It was, however, a bit above what I wanted to pay, especially since I was going to be doing, in total, around 1300 sq ft!
Well, they took that into consideration, and gave me a deal on the price. I got the flooring and the underlayment for less than $2/sq ft! I had been planning to buy it all at once, with some money I'd saved up, but I hadn't saved up quite that much. I just bought enough to do the living room so I could have that done before we moved in. A couple of months later, when I got my income tax refund, I went back to get the rest. Even though it had been a couple of months since I'd bought the first load and the cost of the flooring had gone up, they stuck to the original deal.
They do have installers, but didn't push installation service on me. In fact, they recommended that I try to install it msyelf, since the cost of installation would double the cost of the flooring. I'd never done anything even remotely like that before, but they explained how to do it and what basic tools I would need. And whenever I had a question while I was doing that first room, they were there and ready to answer them. When I came in the second time to pick up the rest of my flooring, I proudly showed them the pictures I'd taken of the living room when I finished it up, and they were more than happy to look at them and tell me it looked as good as I thought it did.
They are friendly, customer-oriented, and have excellent products! The new house is a doublewide, and laminate flooring can end up sounding hollow, but the underlayment they sold me deadens sound nicely. There is no hollow sound to the floor at all! And even with six dogs running, scrambling, and skidding across the floor, there are no scuffs or scratches. In fact, the only scuffs or scratches at all are ones that I made during the installation, and are impossible to see if you don't know they're there.
The moral of the story? Great quality flooring from a great company. They won't push things on you that you don't need. They'll answer any questions you have. And, if you have materials left over when you finish the job, they'll buy them back! I have recommended them to friends myself, and will again. And when I get ready to replace the flooring in the kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms, I'll be going back to Crazy Dave's!"

"I use them pretty much exclusively unless the prices are quite a bit cheaper elsewhere. I use them for everything. I have a couple of rental properties and I've spent probably $3,000 in the last two months. They seem to have more variety and are better stocked. They seem to have better prices than anyone else. I will definitely continue to use them."

"They helped us decide on the tile color and the type of sink and hardware for both the sink and shower. Overall the workmanship was excellent and the time it took to complete was about a week. They came on a Monday morning and put the finishing touches on the following Monday. The glass doors were put on Friday. This included the time it took to let the shower pan dry. After that they installed a new drain and started the tiling so they were ready by Friday for the glass door. They took away the fiberglass shower stall and cleaned up after themselves."

"I had purchased sheets of glass tiles and selected my kitchen cabinets, countertop, and flooring based on these tiles. My 1974 Little Rock house has nothing level or square. My contractor installed the tiles in the wet bar area, and they looked awful. I told him to stop and I called two tile installers for estimates. Leon was the lower bid, and he impressed me because he pointed out problem areas, things I needed to decide about, and the fact that I needed UNsanded grout because the glass tiles would be scratched with sanded grout. I wanted dark brown grout, and that was a challenge to locate, but I finally did. Leon came early one morning to install tiles, and I took off work so I could watch his installation. After a few hours, I knew he was excellent, so I left and went to work. He returned to grout the following morning. I am thrilled at the outcome, and I took him to my daughter's nearby 1967 house so he could give me a bathroom redo estimate. I highly recommend. He also does wood flooring installation, but my floors were already done."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Biscoe, AR

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
