"It went great. The salesman, Heywood, was fantastic and went above and beyond to make everything right. Taylor, in the office, was fantastic with returning calls and calling me to check-in to ensure everything was done on schedule and correctly. The flooring installers did a great job and their painter did a very good job painting the baseboards and stair risers. I found Mr. Hardwood to be very professional and thorough."

"<p>Contacted Dalton Carpet One about a bathroom remodel.  Designer Lauren Harrell came to our house and did some measurements and we discussed some initial ideas.  We met a few days later at the business and Lauren had pulled out some sample tiles and had put together a plan that we agreed on.  Dalton Carpet One was then able to draw up a computer sketch of the plan so we could get a better idea of how the finished project would look.  After all agreeing on tile color and style, we received a printed detailed quote for materials and labor. We then finalized the decision that Dalton Carpet would do the job.  Dalton called and we set a date to do the remodel.  On the date, the installer came on time as promised and was very professional and used every precaution to keep the bathroom remodel in the bathroom and not do any harm to the other parts of the house. (This was an upstairs bathroom so he had to make a lot of trips up and down the steps.)  He kept me informed on his progress all along and how we wanted the shower to look.  Used the Schluter Shower system which is the best to help reduce any chance of shower leakage. ( The orange board and sealer strips like on many of the home shows.)  Changed out the shower head that I purchased and also installed tile backsplash on three walls around a jet tub.  This remodel took a whole week and during the week we had different representatives from Dalton Carpet One coming by and checking the progress, helping the installer and making sure the job was going to our liking and if we had any concerns.  </p> <p>The one thing I would like to add to this review is that if you are looking online and trying to decide who might do a flooring job or tile bathroom remodel for you then I'd say Dalton Carpet One is the type business you will want to do business with.  They have done all that we agreed on, the way we agreed on (no change of design or cost) and they did it in a professional way at the time they said they would do it.  </p> <br />"

"Lewis Co. Does a great job with installation of flooring. We had a couple of small mishaps, but the owner himself came out and helped fix them. I would recommend this company to anyone! And their prices were very reasonable!"

"<p>The way they clean carpets works very well and smells pleasant. The carpet is not left soggy or wet. They were very professional and did a great job! I liked the fact the cleaner they use is all natural with no harsh chemicals since I have dogs. They even gave me a free bottle of the cleaner they make and use for free! </p>"

"We were closiing on a house and knew we needed to do something with the wood flooring on the main floor. There had been water damage and some significant gaps in some of the wood boards. There was quite a bit of "cupping" or "waving" throughout the floors as well. I called Daniel on Thursday morning after we closed late the evening before, and asked him if he could stop by and provide advice for the flooring, initially we weren't sure if the wood flooring would need to be replaced, repaired, or simply refinished. He said was able to come by with a half hour notice around 4pm that afternoon. He called at 4 and sure enough arrived about a half hour later. He walked around and decided the boards could be refinished, they didn't need to be replaced. We chatted a while as he described what he does, what options we had for the job, and he put together an estimate and a timeframe while with us. Since we had a move in date scheduled, he worked with us to make sure the job would be able to be completed in the appropriate time. We accepted his proposal and agreed that he would call us the next day to let us know for sure what day he could start, as he was just finishing up with another job and wasn't sure if additional work would be requested, as is often the case. He was willing to consider a Sunday start date, but we ultimately settled on him starting on Monday. First thing Monday morning, he asked me to stop by and choose the stain, he gave me the option to come by anytime before noon. I stopped in my way in to work about 9:30 and made my choice, with his assistance is adding the polyeurathane to really see how it would turn out. We agreed to a stain color with 3 coats of the poly and a satin finish. He estimated the job would take 3-4 days to finish. As I am writing this, it is day 4. He was finished with his work yesterday, but today was needed to allow the floors to continue curing, a "no shoes on the wood" day. The appearance of the floors have far exceeded my expectations! I could not be more happy with the results of his work (he did have another guy with him the first day). I stopped in at a couple of different times without notice and I was very pleasantly surprised at their workmanship and cleanliness. They had one very specific work area with their materials, and it was kept very clean and contained. Daniel gave us the option to remove a sink and toilet ourselves or he could do it for a small charge for his troubles-if you have ever removed a toilet, you would understand! Daniel took the time to get to know us a little and he approached the project and us accordingly. We felt very comfortable with Daniel. Daniel coordinated with us each day how things were going, what he was doing when he left, etc. The house was vacant so we had given him an access code for the garage so he could work without too much supervision. He has told us many times that if we see something later that we might want him to address, give him a call and he would be right over. I definitely recommend Daniel and his crew to refinish your wood floors. (Be prepared for a lot of stinky smells with the poly!) <br />"

"I have used this company twice. Once to install carpet in masterbed room, which was a last minute decision and needed to get it done before our bathroom renevation. They were great to work with and were able to get our installation in the very next day. I have since had two other bed rooms carpeted. They are a pleasure to work with. Pricing is good, professional, good quality work. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Athens, GA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
