"It turned out the problems were unrelated. The technician couldn't find any obvious place where the icemaker was leaking (though he was able to verify that a leak was happening). He wound up using some silicone to create a seal, and it's been working fine for 2 months now. The other problem was caused by the frost-free defrost drain being frozen. The technician spent a long time defrosting all the ice that had built up inside the back of the refrigerator. Apparently there was also a service bulletin for this model, something about the heat exchanger being hooked up properly. He made that adjustment and also installed a homemade heat conductor to keep the drain clear. Unfortunately, that hasn't completely solved the problem, after 2 months I've got the sheet of ice at the bottom of the refrigerator compartment problem again. It just happened, so I don't know whether it will be happening at 2 month intervals, or weekly again. Overall, I was satisfied with the initial service (though of course I wish the problem hadn't recurred). I haven't called back yet, I only discovered the problem just now as I was writing this review."

"Refrigerator was not cooling properly, but freezer was functioning fine.  Contacted Appliance Repair, but had to leave message.  Call was returned within a few hours and an appointment was scheduled for the next day.  I was impressed when I spoke with the company that if this had been my primary refrigerator, they would have moved me to the top of the list and been out the same day.  It is a secondary unit so I was fine waiting and it was still working, just not well. <br /> The technician arrived during the appointed time frame and immediately knew the problem was in the freezer.  After some forced defrosting with a hair dryer, he identified the piece and said that he would have to see if he could get the part as he did not have it on his truck, but he thought he could be back the next day - if not, definitely before week end.  The next day, I was contacted in the late morning that he had the part.  The technician arrived about 30 minutes later and completed the repair within about 15 minutes. <br /> I was pleased with the promptness, professionalism and value.  This repair was completed on 12/30 and 12/31; I had figured with the holiday, it would either take longer to be repaired or cost more - neither was true.  I would definitely use Appliance Repair again as well as recommend them to others. <br />"
