"Perfect. Water in the basement from a broken pipe. They arrived within 30 minutes of my call. Totally prepared. Totally professional. They removed all items from the room, lifted the wet carpet, set up drying fans and other drying equipment. Cleaned up after themselves. Returned the next day to check progress and remove the equipment that was no longer needed. Next day, removed remaining equipment after verifying areas were completely dry. After the carpet was replaced, they returned to move all items back into the room. They worked very efficiently and effectively. Wasted no time. Highly competent and respectful of our property."

"Rubio and his crew were very professionally, efficient and a lot of attention to detail. They cleaned up the old pad, carpet tack, and installed Pergo Gold LVP tile oad, and Pergo LVP, I had purchased at a big box store. Because of his excellent work we intend on using him to install carpet in our basement as well."

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"Brian arrived on time.  He assessed the situation.  He determined that the work that we wanted done would be difficult to do as a standard repair job and offered alternatives.  He creatively suggested that we might take carpet that had similar wear characteristics from another room that also had a problem and use that carpet to repair a major section of another room.  Under Creative Carpet's contract, he completed this repair.  He also suggested where we might be able to get a carpet remnant for a smaller bedroom that we took the carpet from and minimize our cost.  We are selling the house and did not want to re-carpet our whole upper floor which we would have done without the repair. <br /> The repair looked very good.  We saved about $4000 from having to purchase new carpeting.  It is not perfect, but our expectations of doing the repair were not high to begin with.  I think Brian did everything that he could do and more.  He hauled away the old carpet remnants.  He was very professional throughout the experience. <br />"

"I shopped every provider in town finding only two who actually seemed to want the business. Might have been just my experience but I found Sweeney Bros. to be superior in their product knowledge, their knowledge of how a hardwood floor actually gets installed, and their candidness in answering all my questions. I felt there was no hype, no BS in the entire process. One of the Sweeney brothers themselves did the measurements and even went so far as explaining where the installation starting point should be to get the best effect of the finished flooring. The installer used by Sweeney Bros. has been working with them for several years to my knowledge. The installer and his crew were pretty punctual, professional in their manner and work, kept the entire work area clean so as I could continue to live in it throughout the installation. Follow up on minor issue has been satisfactory. So far very satisfied with the material selected, Sweeney Bros. knowledge, straight forward approach, professionalism of the installer and the installation. The price of the hardwood I selected was a little higher than some of the places I shopped but you could actually see a quality difference in the finish and even the milling. I would recommend Sweeney Bros. based upon my experience. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Bloomington, IL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
