"Although I did not hire this company because my job and budget were too small, when talking to them I found them to be very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions that would help me reduce costs with a kitchen design. If I had a bigger budget, I would have gone with this company."

"Joe Everette is the absolute best in the business. He is a master at keeping on time and on budget, while providing top quality work and materials. He does not cut corners, he is particular with every detail. We honestly have no complaints at all. We are so happy with our new home which is in the last week or so of construction. We give him 100% + grade AA for an awesome job. No matter how many times we bug him he never acts irritated or like he does not have time for us. If you want top quality, he's your guy!"

"Because of unexpected bad weather, the start date was several weeks past what I expected, but when work did begin, the two men arrived early, worked every minute, and put in a full day. Their craftsmanship is excellent. I especially appreciated their habit of cleaning up everything at the end of each day. They left NO trash behind! When their part in the construction was finished, I was not satisfied with two minor items and asked for adjustments. Sunlife quickly agreed to have the workman return and make the corrections. Couldn't ask for better service! <br /> These are the people to call when you want a sunroom. <br />"

"It went perfectly. I called and spoke to the office immediately. They came out the next day on a Sunday prepared to give an estimate and complete the job. Everything is done. They performed quality work with quality products, very professional, clean-cut, honest, efficient, fair price. We are very happy and highly recommend them."

"I emailed the company to request a quote and heard back right away. The owner came out to measure and gave us a price. He was very professional and made the process very easy. It took about 6 weeks to have our awning made and installed. The awning has improved the look of the back of the house and also has created a shady area for us to relax. We love our awning and are glad we went with aluminum awnings and underdecking."

"VPC builders responded promptly to our request for chimney repairs. They sent their site supervisor to our home to evaluate our needs to discuss the details of the project. Our home was only 4 years old but our original builder (not VPC builders) had installed the chimney cap improperly and created a fire hazard and could have potentionaly caused a chimney fire. VPC was very knowledgable of what needed to be done to repair the chimney cap and flue and the materials needed. A date was scheduled for the repair. We were out of town the day of the repair but VPC builders came on the scheduled date and completed the project without a problem. We had just had our deck stained and they took great care to protect the finish and not damage it during the chimney repair process. We were very pleased with the service, price, and professional workmanship of VPC builders. We would definitely use them again for future projects and recommend VPC to others. Our only regret is that we didn't contract for them to build our house originally! <br />"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Blowing Rock, NC

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
