"Five Star Bath Solutions are great. We had a tub with a shower and converted to a shower. They really did the work in one day. They did a very high quality job. We had a custom glass panel placed and it all is so functional and nice. I would not hesitate to recommend Five Star to anyone considering a bath remodel."

"Auland did a super job at a very reasonable price!!! In addition to replacing a rusted-out bathtub drain, he also replaced a burned-out outlet and installed my doorbell. Super happy with his work! I will be calling again!"

"HIired Serge Home Improvement, i for a partial remodel of the kids bath-new shower surround and flooring. During the time, I got the bid and he started work, the laundry room flooded and I asked if he could work on that too. Serge worked with the insurance adjustor and myself to bring the bid in at the insurance companies expectations. He had the laundry room up and running in a couple of days, with lovely new trim. This was a huge relief, as I had now washer for 2 weeks and laundry was piling up. Most of the bids I got for the bathroom work were in $15-$20K or more range. Serge's costs were reasonable and we agreed on what he'd provide and what I'd provide-tile and surround. When asked why the tub should be replaced he explained he wanted to make sure the plumbing was correct. He was right about that, the previous owner had "tiled" himself and done the plumbing. It was mess but Serge fixed it. Furthermore, he used lots of water proofing which gave me peace of mind as the kids splash like crazy. In 2 weeks, the bathroom was finished, and ready to use. I had him re-caulk my tub, and replace light fixtures in the dinning room and family room. It cost a small bit more than I budgeted, but having done remodels in the past I expected that. We are thrilled with the updated bathroom and new light fixtures. I a already discussing future projects with Serge. The best thing about Serge is his doesn't do mind doing projects on your house off and on. My previous contractor stopped taking my projects, because "projects to small and piece meal". Thankfully, Serge doesn't have that attitude."

"We highly recommend Paul Haugen Construction company. Their work was excellent. Everyone at the company proven to be helpful, skillful, reliable and knowledgeable. They worked with us on tile selection and layout and with all our questions. The installation crew members were friendly, very considerate and accommodating during the long project. They worked with our schedules and needs. They even brought in and set up our TV early so we didn’t have to wait until the project was completely done to watch TV. We also trusted them enough to leave them to work on the project while we left for a beach vacation. They worked for us on a bathroom remodeling project that included building a new shower in our previous house. It was so successfully that we hired them later to do a large 1700 sq ft tiling project in our new home. The project included installing heating elements under the tile, laying new tile, installing trim and some wall modifications. We would definitely hire them for a future project."

Customers say: Quick response

"Kevin did an amazing job, responded right away & accommodated my schedule. He built a wall, creating an office space. He made sure I am aware of all the steps & took pics of the frame and insulation before drywall was installed. He moved the thermostat and installed 2 outlets on the new wall. He painted the new room, living room, hallways and 1 bedroom. The paint underneath was dark blue, so he made sure to apply enough coats to cover it perfectly. He removed an iron chimney and covered the ceiling, also bringing the floor under the chimney to the same level as the rest of the living room and covered with hardwood. He installed a fan on my vaulted ceiling in an angle and a new light in the office space and left the house clean of all debris. I am beyond impressed by the quality of work and professionalism he showed from start to finish and I will definitely hire him again. He is reliable, accommodating, respectful & hard working.Hire Kevin without a doubt. You won't regret it."

FAQs for walk in tub installation and replacement projects in Bonney Lake, WA

Because Medicare classifies walk-in tubs as non-durable medical equipment, it generally won’t pick up the tab. Medicaid can help if a doctor certifies that the tub is medically necessary, but rules change by state. Call your plan early, ask which forms you need, and keep any prescriptions or letters on file to improve your odds of reimbursement.

A walk-in bathtub’s fill and drain times hinge on your home’s water pressure and the tub’s hardware. Most models with a fast-fill faucet need about six to eight minutes to fill and two to three minutes to drain; larger basins or standard drains can tack on an extra 10 minutes. Stay seated until the water is completely gone so you don’t swing the door open on a full tub’s worth of water.

A walk-in bathtub holds 50 gallons of water, and its design supports capacities that range from 40 to 80 gallons, depending on the product. In contrast, a standard bathtub holds 25 to 45 gallons. This capacity is determined by the fixed design of the tub and its construction materials. Homeowners should review the detailed product specifications to confirm the exact volume available for use during bath time.

Walk-in tubs are tax-deductible when the purchase qualifies as a necessary medical expense and meets the IRS criteria. Caregivers who install a walk-in tub also qualify for the Dependent Care Tax Credit under specific conditions. Homeowners must verify these requirements with the IRS and consult a tax professional, as state and program guidelines enforce strict documentation standards for such deductions.
