It took some time to schedule this job.   We had an earlier estimate in March from another contractor, which was quite excessive.   Also that contractor was not going to be available for some time.     We initially contacted John in July to determine availability, and then followed up in September.  

He made time to come out in late September to evaluate the job needed, and then we set some tentative dates for his return.  

The job was completed in about 3 hours.    John and his associate Matt were very neat, and made every effort to minimize the dust involved.      The job did require that part of the popcorn ceiling be scraped and smoothed.   We will have Matt return to complete the rest of the ceiling and painting for a modest additional cost.

"I hired Matt after a no-callback and a no-show from two other contractors. I wish I found him first as he came by when he said would, got me a quote in under a day, and showed up to do the work. He and Austin spent about 8 hour putting up blue board over an old ceiling and in a closet, three coating everything, and touching up dents and areas where the trim had damaged the horse-hair plaster. Everything looks good, they definitely breathed new life into an old room. The plaster's about dry now, ready for a final quick sanding, primer and paint. "If you need plaster work done, I highly recommend Best Pro Builders Inc. I have been renovating a 100-year-old house in Cambridge, and needed some ceilings and walls repaired prior to painting. Erick came to my property twice to help me understand which walls and ceilings could be covered with skim coat plaster, and which needed to be demolished, as the plaster was coming loose from the lath. The crew who did the work were extraordinarily competent and hard working. As the job proceeded, I became worried about the huge mess the ceiling demolition made, but when the crew finished the job, they vacuumed and washed the floors, leaving the place cleaner than it was when they got there. I had received two other quotes for this job, and in additional to excellent work they did, Best Pro Builders Inc. was also the lowest priced bid."

"Lindo responded to my request for a quotation more promptly than two other painting companies. Most of the painting in my house will be interior, but the exterior doors were painted on Monday before the weather gets too cold. Omar did an excellent job: he cleaned up, was polite, put everything back the way it was, and the quality of the painting makes our doors look like new, including the two front "double" doors and a side door. During the job, whenever there was a question, Omar always did the higher quality approach, even if it took a little longer: he removed all the small window shades that were on the door and their hardware (and put it back), he patched a couple of holes in the doors, he prepared the surfaces including sanding existing paint, he painted all nearby wood, including the door frames, using exterior green or exterior white, and then used interior white on the insides of the doors. Painting of all the remaining interior work will be this winter; if that's done as well as Omar did on the doors on Monday, then my wife and I will be very happy."
