"My wife and I recently purchased a house in Henrico and wanted nearly all of the house repainted. We requested estimates from three different companies. Short Pump Painters arrived on November 24th to walk through the house for an estimate and emailed me a quote on November 30th. We chose Short Pump Painters because of their reviews, even though they weren’t the lowest bid. During the walk through for the estimate I told them I hadn’t yet chosen colors for the house and they offered us a free color consultation, which we gladly accepted and asked to schedule as soon as possible. We signed the contract on December 1st and told them there was other work scheduled later in the month and that we were hoping to move into the house in a couple of weeks. Short Pump Painters started working the Friday after we signed the contract and the team worked five days straight, right through the whole weekend, to finish the job before any of the other contractors were scheduled to start. I was really amazed and appreciative of their focus and dedication to get the work done in a timely manner. On Wednesday, the day after they finished, I walked through the house on my own and found some minor things that needed to be fixed: e.g. a section of door trim that had been missed and some large paint drips that were conspicuous from a few feet away, probably because they worked through the weekend to finish quickly. That even I took pictures of the things that needed to be fixed and I emailed them to the company. On Friday, they came out and finished everything to my expectations and even helped me move some furniture. It also turned out that when they wrote the contract there was a miscommunication and it was specified that the trim color would not be changed. This was not what we had asked for but it was what we signed. Short Pump Painters honored what we asked for and painted the trim with two coats of a different color paint for the same cost. Overall I am glad I chose the company with the better reviews. Home improvement projects never go as planned and it was great that Short Pump Painters were so flexible and accommodating. That alone was worth the higher cost."
