"Coleman did a wonderful job on our remodel. They did spray foam on the roof of the entire house and installed bats to insulate the walls of our demo'd side. They also had to remove old bats in half of the attic. They were very clean in the disposal of the old insulation and clean up of the overall job when they were done. Communication was great from the start...Shant was very communicative from the initial estimate through to the completion of the job. They were very competitively priced I'd recommend to anyone looking for an insulation contractor."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Contacted McLaughlin for a quote and Bill Sovie from the company arranged to see the job for an estimate. Had to reschedule a couple of times due to weather etc, but when he got to the house he took measurements and let me know the approximate cost. He followed up a couple of days later with a written estimate, and their price was slightly less (but not substantially) than another quote I got. I asked them to get me on the schedule, and was told the office would contact me shortly. Within a day or so the office called and said they had a cancellation and could start the same week. I wasn't ready so I asked them for an alternate date which they had a week later. I scheduled the service, and they showed up when they said they would. The guys that came gave me a rundown on the job, told me I needed to be out of the house for 24 hours. They taped off the outlets, sealed all the windows etc and did a great job prepping the room. I wish they would have vacuumed out the foundation to get the 30 years of debris out, but I ended up doing it while they were prepping the room. They completely filled the bays with closed cell foam and did a great job. I had foam done a few years back with a different company, and MClaughlin's job was WAY better and more professionally done. The pictures I attached is while they were still cleaning up the job. I am super happy with their job and I would definitely hire them on my next foam insulation job."

"Clean Tech Construction was terrific! The team arrived slightly before the scheduled time, removed the old, poorer quality insulation, installed new insulation, including areas that a previous company had not been able to reach, and cleaned up everything before they left for the day. When I initially contacted them about the work, they answered my phone calls within 15 minutes and continued to respond to any calls/questions quickly and politely. I would hire them again in a heartbeat."

"I have done a lot of research into soundproofing and had a quite a few contractors stop by for an evaluation and a quote over the past couple years, and Robert stood out with his friendly demeanor, level of knowledge, and being easy to talk to; he seemed to have good experience in soundproofing and actually knew soundproofing concepts I'd read up on earlier (surprisingly many other drywall contractors were either evasive in rating their confidence in their proposed projects or simply did not have good plans or knowledge of options). He worked with me on a plan to redo a wall separating my bedroom from noisy neighbors, and the result is excellent! Robert and his team have turned a single stud wall into a decoupled double stud wall, with all the right elements for soundproofing, such as quality insulation, acoustic caulk and dampening compound (both by Green Glue), socket putty, etc. Robert's choice of materials was well informed, and the quality of his work was very good, neat, and precise. I could tell he enjoys doing his work well. He cleaned up after the job was done, and the new wall was perfectly plastered--all I had left to do was to paint (which I enjoy doing myself). The total expense was very reasonable for the cost of materials and labor. I also appreciated that Robert always kept me up-to-date on his schedule and coordinated his visits--great communication. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the experience and glad that I found Robert and his team! I can heartily recommend his services for your drywall and related projects! I'd like to also note for general reference that soundproofing is a global project: learn the weak areas where the sound travels--it's frequently not just your walls, but also through your floors and through your ceilings, including from neighbors on the same floor as you! You may think that just fixing one area will solve everything, but sound wave propagation needs to be considered from all directions/sources, and week areas need to be identified: e.g. you may need to redo your wall and your floor, for example, or your wall and your ceiling, or all 3 at once, depending on your exact needs and situation."

"I am 86 years old. Have never had a greater bunch of guys working in cold weather for 12 hours to finish my fence. Worked into the evening on a cold day under floodlights to wrap up the job as promised. Even took the time after a long hard day to clean up all debris. Exceptional bunch of guys. Will have them back again for any other projects around my home. I rated them 5 stars but only 4.5 stars showed in review. Should be 10 stars."

FAQs for spray foam insulation projects in Boston, MA

Local and federal rebates are available for insulation installation, which can significantly reduce your overall costs. Many utility companies offer incentives or rebates to homeowners who improve their home's energy efficiency. Contact your local energy provider or government agencies to learn about available programs in your area, and consult with a professional insulation installer to maximize your savings.

It's not necessary to remove old insulation before adding new insulation, as long as the existing insulation is in good condition—dry, free of mold, and not damaged. Adding new insulation on top of old insulation can improve your home's energy efficiency by increasing the overall R-value. However, if the old insulation is wet, moldy, or damaged, it's best to remove it before installing new insulation to prevent potential health risks and ensure optimal performance.

Insulating a house takes between five and twelve hours for batts or boards, and two to five hours for spray foam or blown-in insulation. The exact time depends on the size of your home, the type of insulation, and the accessibility of the areas being insulated. Keep in mind that projects may take longer if old insulation needs removal, if there's a larger square footage, or if spaces are difficult to reach.
