"Outstanding company all around! Jose brought a bunch of carpet samples to our house that matched what we had discussed with him on the phone. We picked the pattern and he sent us more sample pieces so we could choose the exact color. Installation was as simple as showing the installers the room, and "we got it from here!" The seams, edges, and transitions are perfect."

"Pros: The store employees and experience was excellent during order and scheduling. The finished product is awesome. All defects/errors in installation were corrected to our satisfaction after about 3 rounds of work. Cons: Despite being assured by store staff that all installers were company employees, the installers told us they were contractors. There was a complete lack of professionalism in respecting our home by the installers. We were told to prepare the lower level of our home as if a road was being built through. We covered all cabinetry and furniture with plastic wrap and double tented off the upstairs. We have no problem with the dust created and left on surfaces, etc. However, the interior doors were filthy with dark-grout colored hand prints and do not come off even with Mr Clean Eraser, must be repainted. Woodwork is scratched and/or stained with the dark-colored grout throughout and must be repainted as well. Also, they did much work in our garage where we stored uncovered furniture from work area, our tools, holiday storage and grandchildren's toys. All items were completely covered with debris and dust from the tile cutting and mixing of grout and thin-set. We had to empty out entire garage, sweep & mop floor, then wash down all items to put back. Workers also used our expensive, upholstered patio furniture out back for breaks, lunch, etc. We found food wrappers and empty beverage containers littered around the area and dark stains on the upholstery requiring steam cleaning. Not a good representation of the vendor, Capital Carpet & Tile. When I did contact our sales representative, whom I was told was the store manager, regarding issues we were having with contractor, received no help. The owner did follow-up a week after completion and was told of issues. Apologized on phone and through email."

"There are two parts to our purchase with Floors Direct. The first is the initial contact and subsequent visits. We were referred through Angie's List to Jose at Floors Direct. He was AMAZING. There wasn't a request he couldn't handle, there wasn't an impatient bone in his body and he was ALWAYS there to talk to us. We wanted hardwood floors throughout the first floor of our home, replacing carpet. He showed us hardwood and laminate floors, taking us through the pros and cons of each. We eventually decided on laminate floors. Jose gave us Floors Direct's best estimate and we paid a down payment. About a week after, we learned of tile floors that LOOKED like hardwood. Jose said he had them in stock. We quickly picked out what we wanted and Jose reconfigured our entire order as well as our schedule to install the new tile. He did it with a smile. If everyone in business was as polite, courteous and respectful as Jose, the world would be a great place.  <br /> Unfortunately, not everyone associated with Floors Direct is like Jose. The actual installers of our floor did their job but didn't make clear what their schedule was. Our tile was delayed, so they spent considerable time just lounging in our yard on the first day of work. We had a large entertainment center that they were paid to move -- they didn't even try to move it until five days into the project and when they tried they decided not to do it, which altered how they would install tile around the entertainment center. Worst of all, they left messes everywhere in our house, including our garage, back yard and bathroom (eww). Their inability to not clean up after themselves made our house smell and our yard messy. When these issues were brought up to Ramon, who was in charge of the installation, he acted as if he couldn't care less. He took his check (which there was a miscommunication on) and left. Jose apologized profusely for Ramon and his workers but couldn't do anything more about it.  <br /> Ultimately our floors look great, so through all of the problems we still got what we wanted. The bottom line is that Jose and the folks at Floors Direct are great -- they deserve an A! But their workers left a lot to be desired. They deserve a C. Average it out to a B. <br />"

"Jack's work is excellent! He cleaned my old carpets exceedingly well, and they look the best they have looked in ten years! In addition, he was meticulous and expert in patching a portion of carpet that my puppy had destroyed. Jack takes great pride in his work and it shows. I give him the highest recommendation."

"Capitol has been used several times and owner is available and happy to assist. We provided a deal from another installer and Capitol offered an equally appealing offer. Because of our past experience with Capitol and their great installation teams, we decided to pay slightly more and glad we did. A flawless experience and job well done. Mohawk SilkStrand and Capitol Carpet in Boca was a win-win !"

"The technician re-stretched the carpet in my dining room along the bay window wall. It had been removed from the tack strip when we had a leak years ago and I didn't think it could ever be stretched back. He removed the furniture, installed some new tack strip, and was able to pull the carpet back in place. I was so relieved; it looks perfect! <br /> The other job I asked for regarded a stain (I believe from cranberry juice) in a guest bedroom. It had been there for awhile. I had attempted to clean it several times, but could never remove it. I told him I had extra carpet that he could plug in if necessary. To my surprise, he was able to remove the stain and the patching was not needed. <br /> He was very professional and explained everything he was doing as I watched. I was very impressed! <br /> <br />"

"There are a few tile places in Boynton to choose from but there is no comparison as far as quality, service and professionalism at Capitol Carpet and Tile! We started shopping for quality vinyl planking and started off at a big box store that everyone knows about. Their quality was not what we expected and they had very little choices for commercial grade vinyl. In addition, their lack of customer service was a joke. For such a large store, we couldn't locate one person to assist us so we left. This is where Capitol comes in. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Gabriel. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all the lines of vinyl that he sells. We are very picky so we spent a couple of weeks deciding, taking home many samples. By the way, these aren't tiny little pieces they lend you, but big boards with all of the product information and pictures on the back. After a while, we went back to purchase what we chose but we weren't really excited about the pattern. Gabriel took the time and told us "don't buy anything that you really don't want". Now, in steps the manager Nick. He also assisted us and gave us other options to look at. Suffice to say, we bought vinyl that day for our entire house. Not only did he tell us when it will be delivered, he called us the day of delivery and gave us the expected time frame and every detail. The service here is impeccable and the quality of the vinyl is amazing. And no, they are not "expensive" as you get what you pay for. Nice job Gabriel and Nick, you won us over with your service and knowledge..Stu & Deanna Levy!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Boynton Beach, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
