"Contracted with this Mark Kaufman 3/2023 for new Tile roof. Selected them on a referral from a neighbor who used them a few years ago. After some research the company had been in business for 30 years with good reputation. I later found out Founder Mark Kaufman sold company and new ownership has used the good name without disclosing new management. Since our new roof we now have major Black mold and ceiling a damage. We have 3 separate leaks in our home in different rooms. We do have a 20 year warranty, but after 4 visits to repair the leaks we still have major problems. We are seniors and have advise this company that our Dr. Is concerned with reason health problems related to week of this Mold and mildew. We are still waiting for the leaks to Ben corrected and a commitment to contract with a mold remediation company and resolve ceiling damage problem. We did not have any leaks before we had the new roof installed. S.Nadeau University Park, Fl. 9/24"

"Best service from beginning to end. From the outstanding communication from their office staff to the two team of roofers that did the jobs on both homes. I was completely satisfied and very happy with the results. They methodically picked up all the debris, and allowed me to inspect each roof before they left. I’m a picky person but this company knows what their doing, and not once did I feel any less than completely satisfied. If you want quality and professional service this is the company you want to call. Thank you."

"The Merillat Roofing Team did a great job. They were professional and courteous. They came by, ripped out the old roof, replaced it, and did it all in a timely manner. This was for a secondary flat roof, not the primary one. When it comes time to replace my primary (hopefully many years from now), I will call them in again."

"REASON FOR SELECTION: I reviewed Shingle Master's ratings in Angie's List and a colleague at work highly recommended them. PRICE: -Actual cost of just replacing shingles with the 50 year shingles was $17K. I spoke to many of my neighbors who have similar houses and they claim to have paid around $17K. So I figure this was okay. - I also requested the option of having insulation blown into my attic, this was an additional $1.9K. - I also have Peel & Stick placed all over the roof for $900 - I also paid $300 for an upgraded workmanship warrant that was transferable to the new owner - I was graciously given a $300 military discount for my service. - I also had to pay over $1K for 21 extra pieces of plywood (making 26 total pieces swapped out) (the contract provided for 5 pieces of plywood to be included). I expressed my concern over this issue and the salesman assured me this was typical and nothing to worry about. He led me to believe that in the worst case scenario, I might have to have 5-10 pieces replaced and his company would furnish me with pictures of the damaged wood. Upon receipt of my bill I requested those pictures and they don't account for 26 pieces being damaged, just a few. QUALITY: The final appearance of the roof looks good. However, I have reservations about a practice that was performed on my house. Upon returning home I noted that the roofing crew was blowing insulation through two square holes (my estimate of the hole size is 18-24 inches square) that were cut in the sheathing in at least two areas of my roof. I believe they cut more holes then the two I saw because I could see what looked like repair work on the peel & stick in other areas. What I could not understand was why they had to cut holes in the roof for insulation when they had to replace 26 pieces of plywood. Moreover, where one of the holes was cut was over the garage and my wife made it know she was home and could have afforded them access to the attic through the garage. I've been told this is not normal practice. I am enclosing a picture of one of the hold to illustrate. RESPONSIVENESS: Right from the start, communication was disappointing. Even though my first call was before 4:00 pm I got the answering machine that urged me to go to their website and fill out a form. I constantly got the answering machine. If my co-worker had not urged me to hang in there, I probably would have sought out another company. I even had trouble getting replies to my emails. PUNCTUALITY: No problems here. PROFESSIONALISM: I went with Good for a rating for a few reasons. - The day the dumpster was delivered (Tues) I found nails in my driveway (work had not even begun) - The next day (Wed) someone from Shingle Masters met my wife early in the morning; however he didn't return the rest of the day. We only saw the roofers. - The next day (Thu) no one from Shingle Masters dropped by to check on the work. We only saw the roofers. - On Wednesday when the roofers were done for the day they left the furniture they moved out in the middle of the front yard along with an insulation hose; they left tools (radio and ice chest) up on the roof; and just departed. Picture enclosed. - On Thursday when they were done, the did move the furniture back, tidied up before they left and took the dumpster. - Wood covered by a blue tarp was left in my yard for a few more days. - Met owner on 11 July; he was professional and amicable to talk with. I addressed my positive comments and negative concerns with him."

"I was impressed by the thoroughness. He replaced rotted wood and redid a long segment of the roof. Was not able to finish on the day and came back on the weekend to finish the job. After the work was completed we had that one week of heavy rainfalls and to my delight everything stayed dry on my patio."

"We recently had the guttering system on our home replaced by Vanguard Building Solutions. The project included replacement of our gutters and repair and replacement of rotted fascia and soffit. The project was overseen by John Ambrosio, one of Vanguard’s principals. We have been through many renovation projects of our home and I must say that the professionalism in which Vanguard completed the project is way beyond what we have become accustomed to. In selecting Vanguard, we also interviewed another contractor. That contractor came to our home and did exactly what we asked them to do which was to quote us a price for replacing rotted fascia and soffit and fixing the gutters. Mr. Ambrosio came to our home to spec the job (he was on time and called ahead to confirm the appointment and his arrival time I might add) and spent a good deal of time walking our roof and reviewing our gutter situation. Mr. Ambrosio was very forthright with us and explained to us that our real problem was a roofing issue and that the roofing issue was causing our fascia, soffit and guttering issues. This issue was not identified by the other contractor and was subsequently borne out to be true upon examination by a roofing contractor. This analysis of our situation by Mr. Ambrosio saved us the agony of completing the project only to find out that the real issue remained unresolved. The other gutter contractor we interviewed never identified this issue. Highlights of the project included: Mr. Ambrosio providing coordination of the guttering/fascia/soffit work by Vanguard with that of the roofing contractor. Although Vanguard does not do roofing work, Mr. Ambrosio was extremely knowledgeable of roofing work and served as a resource to us regarding the roofing work as it progressed. The value of this to me cannot be overstated. I had no interest in providing general contractor services and overseeing both the roofers and Vanguard and Mr. Ambrosio handled the coordination of the two on an egoless basis. He stopped by whenever I had questions and I never had to step in and referee differences between Vanguard and the roofers. Mr. Ambrosio and his team were consummate professionals. They promptly returned calls and texts, showed up on time as promised, and left our home each day having picked up after themselves. I felt the price that I was given was fair and that when additional work was required (work they had told me might have to take place before we signed the contract) they discussed it with me before moving forward and gave me a very fair price. In reality, I feel as if I was under-billed for the work they performed throughout the project. During the course of the project, the roofers did not adequately secure our home from rain and we sprung leaks inside our home. This matter was ultimately resolved by our roofers who also conducted themselves professionally. One of these leaks took place on a Sunday evening and was discovered when I came home around 7:00 in the evening (water was draining into the interior of our home in multiple locations). As I placed buckets under the leaks and cleaned up the mess, I sent a text to Mr. Ambrosio just to let him know it was happening. I was shocked when I received a reply from him offering to drive to my house and help me clean up. This was not Vanguard’s issue but they were willing to help. That action spoke loud and clear to me as to the character of Vanguard and Mr. Ambrosio. Last but not least, we are very pleased with the product we received. In conclusion, I cannot say enough good things about Vanguard and their team. If you have guttering work that needs to be taken care of, they should be your guys."

I started painting in 1999 and worked for a German man who was as kind as can be, but that was masked behind the hardest worker I have ever seen. On the job site, he would appear to most to be a jerk because he worked so hard, fast and did not have time for small talk, but I knew the man behind the hard worker and he really was a great, family man. He would often tell stories about the hard worker of a man who trained him and as he described this man, I saw what made my boss into the man he was; he was a mirrored reflection of that man. As a young punk at the time, I learned first hand, by example, what it meant to have a good work ethic in a day and age where the younger are struggling to be independent from their parents’ success’. I learned how to provide for a family. I learned how to work long hours. I learned the most efficient way to provide a professional painting service for customers. \n \nAnyways, I worked for this German for seven years, primarily doing repaints and primarily working in Anderson Township, OH. I had hoped to make a career out of working for that company, but each year was slow in the winter and I needed something stable to provide for my family because my wife did not work. I found the perfect job in West Chester, OH where I was guaranteed winter work so I went to work there. \n \nIn West Chester, we primarily worked in new construction, but more specifically in multi-million dollar homes for four years. So there is a wide range of experience of circumstances that I have worked under from repaints to new construction. \n \nAs for my workers, two of them have worked with me since 2000 with my first painting employer. They even worked with me with this other company in the multi-million dollar homes for four years. The third employee I have I worked with for four years in the multi-million dollar homes. I am very fortunate to have the same work crew for this many years. I know them very, very well and am too excited they are now working for me. I hope I never have to hire anyone again! \n \nMy faux finish painter has been an artist her whole life and when not working on the job site, she is designing and creating something at home on the walls. Her faux finishes, murals, and children’s themes are second to none. \n \nIn closing, I’d like to list our points of experience for easy reading: \n \nSame work crew for ten years where camaraderie and friendship have been established \nSeven years of primary experience with repaints on occupied homes \nFour years of primary experience with new multi-million dollar homes where perfection was required \nHard working example in the owner/boss for seven years prior to GreenWay’s beginning \nEleven years of full-time painting; painting has been my only career \nWorking for two professional painting contractors prior to GreenWay beginning, which reveals that we are in this for the long haul; we do not change jobs every three months, thus not having a high turnover rate with employees. \nEleven years experience has proved that it only pays to use the best painting products on the market! So you can expect that we come to work on your project that we are using the very best products available. \nI hope this gives you a small picture about the experience that drives GreenWay Painting. We look forward to pleasing one customer at a time and hope you will be our next!
