"The estimator came within a few days of my initial call. He was prepared to explain what a Solatube is. We had already seen them in a neighbor's house so he proceeded to see where we wanted them. He looked in the attic, took some measurements, and provided a written estimate on the spot. The estimate included the Angie's List discount. The installation was scheduled around some other contractors. On installation day, the team hit traffic but called to explain their delay. They did a very careful and thorough job with the exterior installation; Amazing Skylights are very proud of their no leaks ever record and work hard to maintain that. While one installer was on the roof the other was preparing the duct work to go between the diffuser and the roof installation. The product is designed so that it accommodates any angle between the ceiling and the roof by simply twisting the articulated ducting. It is a very clever design and an easy way to ensure an exact fit. One of the solatubes was replacing an existing ceiling light fixture and we used that wiring to power a light kit in that solatube. There was a problem with the original light kit. The team ran a several tests to isolate the problem and concluded that it was a bad part. At no time did they even hint that it was something wrong with the existing light fixture. They replaced the faulty light kit with a new one and completed their work. The interior and exterior fit and finish is excellent. We've had several bouts of very severe thunderstorms as well as some prolonged soaking rains and there are no leaks. We are delighted with the light these solatubes provide, even on cloudy days. It looks like some left a bright light on in the interior bathroom and the hallway where we installed these solatubes."

"We received a drive-by visit in early September from Presidential Exteriors canvassing the neighborhood and while we knew we were living on borrowed time, with our roof last replaced before 1991, we don't do business with companies we don't know and trust. In this case I said no thank you, and the canvasser made a last comment that struck a chord, to look them up online. Over two days, the crew of two performed an amazing job at removing multiple layers of very old shingles (resulting in less full shingles being removed, and mostly partially torn pieces) and the care and cleanup left the full area around the house and bushes almost clean. Understandably, with any re-roofing I cannot imagine you wouldn't have some small amount of cleanup and a few full handfuls of nails and staples over the following months. In our case, in the subsequent week we have found over 60 nails so far using our own magnetic broom (purchased at Home Depot). The third day found the crew finishing the roofing and the other contractors arriving to remove and install the new gutters. So far, the new roof and rain gutters look great and we're cautiously awaiting the approaching storm season."

"I think Chris did a fine job.  My only criticism, and I did not do any comparison bids to know how reasonable this is, was the price.  I paid $199 for the original roof check-up, which had a $100 credit for any additional work.  The collar repair was an additional $200, so I ended up paying $299 in total.  He was here less than an hour.  Based on time alone, that seemed expensive.
