"This is my first Angies List review. My wife and I originally wanted a single door and side lights to replace a french double door system with storm doors. Went to home depot and had an estimate done. Installer came out and after taking measurements informed us that the opening would not support a single door and side lights without going to custom (WOOD) sizes. I wanted no maintenance doors and this would not work. Settled on replacing double doors with double doors. Home Depot then began messing up the order and their customer service (Installers and Store Employees) sucked. Finally got a call stating my install would have to be moved as the door hey were holding was damaged at the store. Only saving grace was that they refunded all of my money (Door was special order). Still needing a new front door I went on Angies List looking for contractors. Dan from Dane's Quality Craftsmanship called and an estimate was set up. Dan showed up on time and his communication was excellent. He was extremely friendly and understood what we wanted (Estimate for double door as we were told the side light and single door could not be done). The estimate was reasonable, but wanted a few more to compare so the job was not initially set up. While seeking other estimates, we were told that a single door and side lights COULD be done. These other contractors that came in either gave a "ballpark" estimated, or took forever to get back with an estimate, or did not get back at all after repeated calls. Needing to get the entry door replaced I contacted Dan again (6 Months after initial estimate). I explained what we wanted and the changes to his original estimate and requested he return to verify measurements. I was told that because he was busy he would not be able to return to remeasure, but due to his friendliness and customer service decided to hire him regardless. A deposit was paid and Dan did make a return trip to remeasure and provide a more detailed estimate of the new job (Single door and side lights). The estimate was along the same lines as the previous estimate (increased only a few hundred dollars). Dan ordered all the materials. Due to Covid, the wait for the materials was 6-8 weeks. When they did come in Dan was quick to set up an install date that matched with my schedule. Dan arrived on time and got the job done. Job took a day and a half to complete, with some modifications and additions discovered during the install. My wife and I now have a great looking front door that is sealed from the weather. We did not even want to open the prior door due to the issues with closing the doors. I would highly recommend Dan and Dane's Quality Craftsmanship not only for his quality of work, but also his friendliness and customer service."

"The results are amazing. In our 90 year old home, the railing had pulled from the plaster wall, at the top of the stairs. Reattachment required drilling behind 1" thick plaster, sinking into a stud for stability To finish, plaster was added to clean up the hole, it was sanded , and the wall primed for painting. I feel so fortunate that such care was given to restoring this old time, custom railing to better condition than before. Its sure to look good, and be safe for another 90 years."
