"Fantastic! It’s been about 2 weeks since we received our mold removal and treatment service from My Pure Environment. Our bathroom looks and feels great! We have a much easier time maintaining its cleanliness now that MPE has taken care of the mold issue. With 2 under 2 in our household, we are so happy to finally let them bathe in the tub without fear of mold toxicity! 10/10 would recommend and hire again!"

"If it would be possible I could give more than 5 stars. Jeff and Connie are very nice people and incredibly knowlegable specialists. They went above and beyond, conducting inspection of our house. I invited them because of presence of mold and odors. The house was thoroughly inspected not only for those problems we concerned of, but for all other possible hazards. Jeff and Connie spent as much time at our house as it was needed to complete all the aspects of required inspection. Each room, even every little space, furnace, AC unit, stove, refrigerator were inspected. Shortly after appointment I got detailed reports with photos and multiple very helpful recommendations. Now we know what exactly should be done in the house and outside in order to eliminate negative issues found by Jeff who is an expert in all aspects, related to different systems of house. Jeff and Connie are very kind and intelligent people. It was a real pleasure to spend several hours with them at our house. This appointment was life-changing for us. I highly recommend May Idoor Air Inspections to all who would like to make sure that environment of living places is safe."

"The remediation work itself was performed well. Unfortunately, they caused some minor damage in the process of removing built-in shelving and molding. I totally understand that damage of that sort is normal and to be expected -- however it would have been preferable if they had taken the bull by the horns and told us about it. Finding it on my own after they had finished the job was a bit disappointing.
Overall, I have the sense that the company is very busy which leads to a bit of disorganization when it comes to coordinating their interaction with clients. For example, they forgot to schedule their clean-up team after the remediators were finished. As a result, we found ourselves pestering them to come back and clean up and, for awhile, the only response we received was an emailed final invoice for payment.
Last critique is that the client reps can come across as a bit alarmist at times. I truly do not think that they were "fishing" for more remediation work, but they had a tendency to focus on all the areas of the house that should be concerning to us from a mold perspective. There is a fine line between helpful advice/consultation and an opportunistic "hard sell". They came a bit close to the line at times."

"We were asked a few questions on the phone and were given a cost estimate that was fairly accurate. Once we accepted Gordon Mycology's terms, a date for an inspection was set up. They had no problem coming at my preferred date. They arrived on time and went right to work telling me everything they saw right and wrong with suggested ways to fix the situation. Moisture readings were taken of the air and various materials around the basement. Swab samples were taken where they expected mold. A down payment (about 60% of the cost) was made by credit card when they were leaving. One week later we received a detail email report and that was followed up in a few days with a hard copy report and the final bill. Many recommendations were made that we could do and a few were made where a professional would be better. We were very happy with their work although a $1500- bill was a big hit."

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Brookline, NH

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
